Ο Τούρκος Υπουργός ανέφερε ότι ο πρώτος αντιδραστήρας βρίσκεται σε εντατική διαδικασία δοκιμών, σημειώνοντας ότι το θέμα συζητήθηκε και στην τελευταία συνάντηση του Τούρκου Προέδρου, Ρετζέπ Ταγίπ Ερντογάν, με τον Ρώσο Πρόεδρο, Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν. «Οι δύο χώρες και όλες οι ομάδες εργασίας εργάζονται αυτή τη στιγμή για να θέσουν σε λειτουργία τον αντιδραστήρα μέσα στους επόμενους μήνες. Ο Μπαϊρακτάρ ανακοίνωσε ότι η Άγκυρα αναθεωρεί το Εθνικό Ενεργειακό Σχέδιο, με στόχο να παρουσιάσει πριν από την Διάσκεψη του ΟΗΕ για την Κλιματική Αλλαγή COP31 τη νέα «Ενεργειακή Αρχιτεκτονική της Τουρκίας για το 2040». «Κάνουμε μια πολύ σοβαρή δουλειά», είπε, διευκρινίζοντας ότι το νέο σχέδιο θα αφορά την ενεργειακή υποδομή που επιδιώκει να διαθέτει η Τουρκία την περίοδο 2035-2040. «Αν με ρωτήσετε τι υπάρχει στη νέα ενεργειακή αρχιτεκτονική μας, θα σας απαντήσω με μία λέξη: εξηλεκτρισμός. Θα εξηλεκτρίσουμε την Τουρκία και θα αυξήσουμε πολύ σημαντικά τον βαθμό εξηλεκτρισμού», δήλωσε ο Τούρκος Υπουργός. Στις μεταφορές, όπου σήμερα το ποσοστό εξηλεκτρισμού βρίσκεται στο 0,5%, η Άγκυρα θέτει ως στόχο να κυκλοφορούν στους τουρκικούς δρόμους 8 έως 10 εκατομμύρια ηλεκτρικά οχήματα έως το 2035. Ο Μπαϊρακτάρ ανέφερε ότι επιδιώκεται ένα πολύ μεγάλο μέρος του στόλου οχημάτων της χώρας να γίνει ηλεκτρικό. Παράλληλα, σημείωσε ότι μόνο την περασμένη χρονιά η ζήτηση ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας λόγω ψύξης αυξήθηκε κατά 19%-20%, εκτιμώντας ότι ανάλογη αύξηση θα καταγράφεται σχεδόν κάθε χρόνο. Η Τουρκία σχεδιάζει παράλληλα να ανεβάσει τον πήχη στις ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας. «Θα θέσουμε μεγαλύτερους στόχους», δήλωσε ο Μπαϊρακτάρ, προσθέτοντας ότι ο Ερντογάν αναμένεται να ανακοινώσει στην COP31 στην Αττάλεια έναν πιο φιλόδοξο στόχο. Την παραίτησή του από την Κεντρική Εκτελεστική Επιτροπή του Ρεπουμπλικανικού Λαϊκού Κόμματος (CHP) της αντιπολίτευσης στην Τουρκία υπέβαλε ο Αντιπρόεδρος του κόμματος Μπερχάν Σιμσέκ, μετά τη δημοσιοποίηση εικόνων που φαίνεται να σχετίζονται με καταγγελίες για άσκηση βίας σε βάρος της συντρόφου του, Οζλέμ Σανβέρ. Σύμφωνα με το CNN Türk, η Σανβέρ, η οποία φέρεται να συζεί με τον Σιμσέκ εδώ και περίπου δέκα χρόνια, προσέφυγε τον Απρίλιο του 2026 στη δικαιοσύνη, υποστηρίζοντας ότι είχε υποστεί σωματική και ψυχολογική βία. Economic sentiment in Cyprus improved for the fourth consecutive month in July, on improved business confidence in the services and retail trade sectors, according to the benchmark index compiled by the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus. The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI-CypERC) increased by 0.7 points to 101.5 compared with June, but remained far below the monthly index throughout the past 12 months. Real GDP growth in Cyprus is expected to slow from 3.8% in 2025 to 2.7% this year and to strengthen to 3.1% next year, according to the latest quarterly outlook by the University of Cyprus.
