Στόχος είναι να είμαστε στον καλύτερο βαθμό επιχειρησιακής ετοιμότητας και ικανότητας όταν και εφόσον παραστεί ανάγκη εκκένωσης σε ένα πραγματικό επεισόδιο, δήλωσε ο Υπουργός Εσωτερικών, Κωνσταντίνος Ιωάννου, ο οποίος παρακολούθησε, το απόγευμα της Τετάρτης, άσκηση εκκένωσης των κοινοτήτων Φοινί και Καλοπαναγιώτη. Πρόκειται για την έβδομη και τελευταία άσκηση που πραγματοποιείται ενόψει της αντιπυρικής περιόδου και στο πλαίσιο της απόφασης για στοχευμένες δράσεις της Πολιτικής Άμυνας, για καλύτερη προετοιμασία των Υπηρεσιών και των Τοπικών Αρχών, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη της αδυναμίες που παρατηρήθηκαν στο παρελθόν, ανέφερε σε δηλώσεις του ο κ. Ιωάννου, επισκεπτόμενος αρχικά το Συντονιστικό Κέντρο Επιχειρήσεων, που λειτούργησε στα γραφεία του Κοινοτικού Συμβουλίου Πλατρών. Σημειώνεται ότι την ώρα των δηλώσεων, ήχησε στα κινητά, όλων των παρευρισκομένων, το προειδοποιητικό μήνυμα του συστήματος CY-Alert, δίνοντας οδηγίες για προετοιμασία και ακολούθως για εκκένωση των κατοίκων. «Οι ασκήσεις αυτές έχει αποφασιστεί να πραγματοποιηθούν φέτος, ούτως ώστε να αξιολογηθεί ο βαθμός ετοιμότητας και ανταπόκρισης των υπηρεσιών, διότι λαμβάνουν μέρος και υπηρεσίες εκτός της Πολιτικής Άμυνας, όπως η Αστυνομία, η Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία, ο Ερυθρός Σταυρός και οι Τοπικές Αρχές», είπε ο Υπουργός, σημειώνοντας ότι «στόχος των ασκήσεων είναι να αξιολογήσουμε τον βαθμό ετοιμότητας και ανταπόκρισης, ούτως ώστε, τυχόν λάθη και παραλείψεις που θα εντοπιστούν, να τις αντιμετωπίσουμε, ώστε να είμαστε στον καλύτερο βαθμό επιχειρησιακής ετοιμότητας και ικανότητας όταν και εφόσον παραστεί ανάγκη εκκένωσης σε ένα πραγματικό επεισόδιο». Ερωτηθείς σχετικά ανέφερε πως «οτιδήποτε εντοπίστηκε στις προηγούμενες ασκήσεις και θα εντοπιστεί στις σημερινές, είναι αρμοδιότητα του Διοικητή της Πολιτικής Άμυνας να πάρει τα απαραίτητα μέτρα που πρέπει να ληφθούν, ούτως ώστε να βελτιώσουμε την ανταπόκριση των υπηρεσιών». Παράλληλα, αναφέρθηκε στη σημασία εφαρμογής του συστήματος έγκαιρης προειδοποίησης, που τέθηκε σε λειτουργία στις 2 Ιουνίου και το οποίο λειτούργησε και στις ασκήσεις που διεξήχθηκαν την περασμένη Κυριακή. Την ίδια ώρα, ο Υπουργός Εσωτερικών υπενθύμισε ότι έχει παραχωρηθεί κονδύλι 3,1 εκατομμυρίων ευρών στις κοινότητες «κατόπιν δικών τους αιτημάτων, για να προχωρήσουν σε καθαρισμό αδρανούσας γεωργικής γης περιμετρικά των κοινοτήτων, κατόπιν καθοδήγησης από την Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία, για να δημιουργηθούν αντιπυρικές ζώνες». «Δυστυχώς δεν έχουν προχωρήσει αρκετές κοινότητες και αναμένω να προχωρήσουν, ενώ έχω δώσει οδηγίες στους Επάρχους όπως, μέχρι το τέλος του μήνα να προχωρήσουν σε επιθεωρήσεις όλων των κοινοτήτων για να επιβεβαιώσουν ποιές έχουν προβεί και ποιές όχι, γιατί τα λεφτά τα έχουν πάρει εδώ και αρκετές εβδομάδες», συμπλήρωσε. Επιπρόσθετα υπέδειξε ότι, για καλύτερη προετοιμασία των κοινοτήτων και λαμβάνοντας κάποιες αδυναμίες που είχαν παρατηρηθεί πέρσι με το σχέδιο «Πολύβιος», η Πολιτική Άμυνα έχει επισκεφθεί και τις 287 κοινότητες στην Κύπρο και έχει επικαιροποιήσει το σχέδιο, «έχει εκπαιδεύσει όλα τα κοινοτικά συμβούλια, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη και τις ειδικές συνθήκες της κάθε κοινότητας». «Επιπλέον οι κοινοτάρχες έχουν την ευθύνη να προβούν σε καθαριότητα και πολλοί το έχουν πράξει, των οικιστικών ζωνών εντός των κοινοτήτων τους σε περίπτωση που οι ιδιοκτήτες δεν προβαίνουν σε καθαρισμούς», ανέφερε και τόνισε πως «είναι απαραίτητο όλα αυτά να γίνουν για σκοπούς πρόληψης». Ακολούθως, ο ΥΠΕΣ μετέβη στην κοινότητα Φοινί, όπου παρακολούθησε την άσκηση εκκένωσης, με την κοινοτάρχη Νικόλ Νεοφύτου, να δηλώνει ότι οι ασκήσεις είναι «πάρα πολύ χρήσιμες». «Ευτυχώς λάβαμε όλοι το πρώτο προειδοποιητικό μήνυμα και μετά το δεύτερο και ως κοινότητα ενεργοποιήσαμε το σχέδιο ‘Πολύβιος’», είπε, προσθέτοντας ότι οι κάτοικοι συγκεντρώθηκαν σε τρία προκαθορισμένα σημεία, για να επιβιβαστούν σε λεωφορείο που θα τους μεταφέρουν στο κέντρο φιλοξενίας στις Κάτω Πλάτρες. Όσον αφορά τις αποζημιώσεις στους πυρόπληκτους της περσινής πυρκαγιάς στην Επαρχία Λεμεσού, ο κ.
