The latest U.S. inflation data came in above expectations, while the American economy remains strong enough to leave the Fed with increasingly fewer arguments for keeping rates at their current level. Η επιλογή είναι δική μας: μια ισχυρή, ανεξάρτητη Ευρώπη με τη δύναμη να δράσει ή μια Ευρώπη διχασμένη, εξαρτημένη και χωρίς κατεύθυνση», υπογράμμισε η Φον ντερ Λάιεν. Θέλουμε να διατηρούμε σχέσεις καλής γειτονίας. Δεν πρέπει να υπάρχουν παρεξηγήσεις, ειδικά όσον αφορά την ασφάλεια. Και οι δύο πλευρές πρέπει να τις αποτρέψουν. Εμείς, φυσικά, έχουμε πολύ σοβαρές ανησυχίες σχετικά με τον εξοπλισμό ορισμένων νησιών. Το γνωρίζουν αυτό και τους το έχουμε μεταφέρει. Ο εξοπλισμός των νησιών, ειδικά όσων έχουν αποστρατιωτικοποιημένο καθεστώς, αποτελεί απειλή για εμάς. Φυσικά, υπάρχει και η εκλογική διαδικασία εκεί. Το αντιτουρκικό αίσθημα είναι διαδεδομένο στη διάρκεια της ιστορίας στην ελληνική πολιτική». «Υπάρχει υποχρέωση» Στο επίκεντρο της τοποθέτησης Φιντάν βρίσκεται η θέση ότι η Ελλάδα οφείλει να διατηρήσει το αποστρατιωτικοποιημένο καθεστώς των νησιών που, σύμφωνα με την Άγκυρα, υπάγονται σε αυτό βάσει διεθνών συνθηκών. «Ένα από τα θέματα στα οποία εστιάζουμε περισσότερο την προσοχή μας είναι το γεγονός ότι η Ελλάδα προβαίνει σε ενέργειες που αντιβαίνουν στις συμβατικές της υποχρεώσεις, σε νησιά τα οποία έχουν τεθεί υπό αποστρατικοποιημένο καθεστώς βάσει διεθνών συνθηκών και των οποίων το καθεστώς αυτό πρέπει αναμφισβήτητα να διατηρηθεί. Καλούμε την Ελλάδα, γείτονά μας και σύμμαχό μας, να εκπληρώσει τις συμβατικές της υποχρεώσεις με τρόπο πιο ώριμο και σύμφωνο με το πνεύμα της συμμαχίας. Με τόσες πολλές προκλήσεις ασφαλείας γύρω μας, η Ελλάδα δεν πρέπει να προσθέσει άλλη μία. Πρέπει να συνεχίσουμε να ενισχύουμε τη θετική ατμόσφαιρα και το πνεύμα που έχουμε πρόσφατα δημιουργήσει για την επίλυση αυτών των ζητημάτων». Ο Τούρκος υπουργός Εξωτερικών υποστηρίζει ότι το ζήτημα δεν είναι καινούργιο, αλλά ανάγεται στη δεκαετία του 1960 και αποτελεί, κατά την τουρκική προσέγγιση, μία από τις διαστάσεις των αλληλένδετων ζητημάτων του Αιγαίου. Αναφέρει επίσης ότι έχει διατυπώσει τις αντιρρήσεις της τόσο μέσω διμερών διαύλων όσο και στο ΝΑΤΟ και στα Ηνωμένα Έθνη. «Οι συζητήσεις για τους S-400 συνεχίζονται» Στο ζήτημα των ρωσικών συστημάτων S-400, ο Χακάν Φιντάν ανέφερε ότι οι επαφές και οι τεχνικές συζητήσεις παραμένουν σε εξέλιξη, χωρίς να δίνει περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες για το περιεχόμενο ή το χρονοδιάγραμμα. «Οι συζητήσεις επί του θέματος βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη. DBRS Ratings GmbH (Morningstar DBRS) has changed the trend on both the Republic of Cyprus’ long-term and short-term foreign and local currency issuer ratings to ‘positive’ from ‘stable’ on the view that Cyprus will maintain its strong fiscal position and continue reducing its public debt burden. Morningstar DBRS also confirmed the long-term credit ratings at “A” and the short-term ratings at R-1 (low).
