Η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία έχει επιλέξει συνειδητά να είναι παρούσα, αξιόπιστη και χρήσιμη στη διεθνή κοινότητα, ανέφερε το βράδυ της Τρίτης ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Δρ Κωνσταντίνος Κόμπος, προσθέτοντας ότι “στην προσπάθειά μας για απελευθέρωση και επανένωση του νησιού μας, η Διασπορά μας παραμένει πολύτιμος συνεργάτης”. Μιλώντας εκ μέρους του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας, Νίκου Χριστοδουλίδη, στο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο Κυπρίων της Διασποράς, στη Λευκωσία και απευθυνόμενος προς τους συνέδρους, ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών σημείωσε ότι “η σημερινή παρουσία σας αποτελεί ισχυρή επιβεβαίωση της καθοδηγητικής αρχής που τονίζει ότι ούτε η απόσταση, ούτε ο χρόνος αποδυναμώνει τους δεσμούς μας. Θεσμικά και οργανικά, εσείς αποτελείτε τον συνδετικό κρίκο μεταξύ των Κυπρίων της διασποράς και της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας”, τόνισε. “Διατηρείτε ζωντανή την ταυτότητα, τις αξίες και τον πολιτισμό μας, στις χώρες όπου ζείτε και διαπρέπετε. Στηρίζετε, με τη δράση, την επιρροή και προπαντός με την αφοσίωσή σας, τις προσπάθειες της Πολιτείας”, ανέφερε, προσθέτοντας ότι “αναγνωρίζουμε και εκτιμούμε την πολύτιμη προσφορά σας” και ότι “σας είμαστε ευγνώμονες”. Την ίδια ώρα, ο Κωνσταντίνος Κόμπος επεσήμανε ότι “σε ένα περίπλοκο και επικίνδυνο διεθνές περιβάλλον, η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία έχει κάνει μια συνειδητή επιλογή, να είναι παρούσα, αξιόπιστη, χρήσιμη στη διεθνή κοινότητα, με εξωστρεφή και δραστήρια εξωτερική πολιτική”. “Ενισχύουμε τις σχέσεις μας με στρατηγικούς εταίρους, επενδύουμε στις τριμερείς και πολυμερείς συνεργασίες, αξιοποιούμε την ευρωπαϊκή μας ιδιότητα και τις άριστες σχέσεις μας με τα κράτη της περιοχής με έναν ξεκάθαρο στόχο: να ενισχύουμε όλους τους παράγοντες ισχύος της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, να μη χαρίζουμε χώρο σε κανένα, χωρίς ηττοπάθεια, χωρίς ηττολογία, με επίγνωση των δυνατοτήτων, αλλά και των περιορισμών μας, με συνείδηση του καθήκοντος προς τον τόπο”, υπογράμμισε. Όπως είπε, “αυτό αποδείξαμε και κατά τη διάρκεια της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, η οποία ολοκληρώθηκε πρόσφατα με επιτυχία και ως αποτέλεσμα μεθοδικότητας, αφοσίωσης και στοχοπροσήλωσης, κάτι που αναγνωρίστηκε στο εξωτερικό και επαινέθηκε, αναδεικνύοντας και προβάλλοντας την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία για τους σωστούς λόγους”. Αναφερόμενος στη φετινή συμπλήρωση 52 χρόνων συνεχιζόμενης και παράνομης τουρκικής κατοχής κυπριακού εδάφους, “περιφρονητικής και προκλητικής καταπάτησης της διεθνούς νομιμότητας, των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων και του συνόλου των κανόνων λειτουργίας της διεθνούς κοινότητας”, ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών σημείωσε ότι “ο εισβολέας, ο κατακτητής, πιστεύει ότι ο χρόνος και η δύναμη του ισχυρού θα ξεθωριάσουν τη μνήμη, θα αδρανοποιήσουν το καθήκον μας και θα οδηγήσουν στην αποδοχή των τετελεσμένων, τελούν όμως υπό καθεστώς αυταπάτης”. Ανέφερε, περαιτέρω, ότι “η μνήμη είναι ζωντανή, όσο η κατοχή αποτελεί καθημερινό και οδυνηρό βίωμα”, επισημαίνοντας ότι “μας έχει κληροδοτήσει η ιστορία μας χρέος και καθήκον να απαλλαγούμε από τα δεσμά της κατοχής, να απελευθερώσουμε και να επανενώσουμε την Κύπρο μας.” “Το «Δεν Ξεχνώ» δεν είναι σύνθημα αλλά ο τρόπος επιβίωσής μας μέχρι τη δικαίωση”, είπε, προσθέτοντας ότι “εξ αρχής παραμείναμε προσηλωμένοι στη δημιουργία προοπτικής για επανέναρξη ουσιαστικών διαπραγματεύσεων”. “Πιστεύουμε ότι μια πιο ισχυρή Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία μπορεί να διεκδικεί πιο αποτελεσματικά, να ακούγεται πιο δυνατά, να υπηρετεί καλύτερα τον μεγάλο εθνικό μας στόχο”, τόνισε ο κ. Κόμπος, υπογραμμίζοντας ταυτόχρονα ότι “εργαζόμαστε για ένα κράτος αντάξιο της εποχής και των απαιτήσεων των πολιτών, με μια οικονομία που είναι σήμερα ισχυρή”. “Καταγράφουμε έναν από τους υψηλότερους ρυθμούς ανάπτυξης στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, ένα από τα υψηλότερα ποσοστά μείωσης του Δημόσιου Χρέους, με ένα από τα χαμηλότερα ποσοστά ανεργίας, με αναβάθμιση στις επενδυτικές αξιολογήσεις”, σημείωσε. “Χωρίς ισχυρή οικονομία, χωρίς ισχυρή εξωτερική πολιτική, είμαστε ευάλωτοι και αυτό δεν πρέπει να το επιτρέψουμε”, συμπλήρωσε. Σε σχέση με το Κυπριακό, ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών ανέφερε ότι μια νέα προσπάθεια βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη, εκφράζοντας τη σαφή θέση της Λευκωσίας για “διαπραγματεύσεις εντός του πλαισίου του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ αποκλειστικά και μόνον, με τον ενεργό ρόλο της ΕΕ, πάντοτε υποστηρίζοντας τις προσπάθειες του Γενικού Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών”. Ταυτόχρονα, σημείωσε ότι “στην προσπάθειά μας για απελευθέρωση και επανένωση του νησιού μας, η Διασπορά μας παραμένει πολύτιμος συνεργάτης”, προσθέτοντας ότι “η περαιτέρω ενίσχυση των δεσμών με την ομογένεια είναι διαρκής έγνοια μας”. “Υλοποιούμε, με συνέπεια και προσήλωση, τη «Νέα Στρατηγική Σχέση» που διαμορφώσαμε”, ανέφερε ο Κωνσταντίνος Κόμπος, σημειώνοντας ότι στο επίκεντρό της βρίσκεται η απόδημη νεολαία. Είπε, ακόμη, ότι το Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών έχει σχεδιάσει, υλοποιήσει και συνεχίζει να υλοποιεί συγκεκριμένες πρωτοβουλίες για την ενίσχυση της επικοινωνίας και της διάδρασης με την κυπριακή διασπορά. Ως πρώτο βήμα, ανέφερε, “εκσυγχρονίσαμε υφιστάμενα κανάλια επικοινωνίας, θέσαμε σε λειτουργία τη νέα ιστοσελίδα της Υπηρεσίας Κυπρίων Αποδήμων του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών με νέα πληροφοριακή πλατφόρμα, που παρέχει ενημέρωση ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος”. Στόχος, όπως είπε, είναι η συνεχής ανανέωση των παρεχόμενων πληροφοριών και υπηρεσιών. Επεσήμανε, επίσης ότι δημιουργήθηκαν νέα κανάλια επικοινωνίας της Υπηρεσίας Αποδήμων στα Μέσα Κοινωνικής Δικτύωσης, με γνώμονα την άμεση επικοινωνία και ενημέρωση που απευθύνεται κυρίως στους νέους αποδήμους. Πρόσθεσε ότι αναπτύχθηκε ειδική εφαρμογή Αποδήμων και Διασποράς, για κινητά τηλέφωνα, η οποία θα παρέχει συγκεντρωμένη πληροφόρηση για θέματα που αφορούν Αποδήμους, για τα προγράμματα και τις δράσεις του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών και της Υπηρεσίας Αποδήμων, αλλά και της ευρύτερης κυβερνητικής μηχανής. Η εφαρμογή θα παρουσιασθεί λεπτομερώς στο πλαίσιο του Συνεδρίου, τις επόμενες μέρες, ανέφερε. Την ίδια ώρα, ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών σημείωσε ότι έχει υιοθετηθεί ψηφιακό σύστημα προξενικής αρωγής (e-proxenos), το οποίο θα εξυπηρετεί και την ομογένεια στα συγκεκριμένα ζητήματα, προσθέτοντας ότι ολοκληρώθηκε η αναθεώρηση και επικαιροποίηση του «Οδηγού Επαναπατρισθέντων», που παρέχει τις απαραίτητες πληροφορίες για όσους επιθυμούν να εγκατασταθούν ξανά στην Κύπρο. Ανέφερε, επίσης, ότι εντός των επόμενων δύο μηνών θα λειτουργήσει και η νέα Πρεσβεία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην Αιθιοπία, με σκοπό να συνδράμει στην ενίσχυση της κυπριακής παρουσίας στην Αφρική. Κόμπος επεσήμανε ότι “ενισχύουμε το δίκτυο παρουσίας μας σε χώρες και γεωγραφικές ζώνες όπου δεν υπάρχουν Διπλωματικές Αποστολές της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, με σχεδιασμένο διορισμό Επίτιμων Προξένων”. “Εκεί που υπήρξαν κενά ή/και εντοπίστηκαν δυνατότητες, εντοπίζονται κενά και ευκαιρίες, που συμπληρώνουμε και αξιοποιούμε αντίστοιχα”, είπε. "Σε συνεργασία με κυπριακά ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα, εξασφαλίσαμε σημαντικό αριθμό υποτροφιών για την απόδημη νεολαία”, σημείωσε, προσθέτοντας ότι “είχαμε την πιλοτική υλοποίηση του προγράμματος «Η Κύπρος στην Τάξη μου» σε δύο παροικιακά σχολεία του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, με στόχο την ενίσχυση των δεσμών των παιδιών της κυπριακής διασποράς, με την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά μας”. Ανέφερε, ακόμη, ότι η Κυβέρνηση προώθησε το πρόγραμμα ‘‘Minds in Cyprus’’, “με σκοπό την ανάπτυξη της νεανικής επιχειρηματικότητας, ξεκινώντας την προσέλκυση νέων αποδήμων μας στην κυπριακή αγορά εργασίας”. “Αυτά υλοποιούνται βήμα-βήμα, μεθοδικά, με σχέδιο, με υπομονή, με συνεργασία”, υπογράμμισε ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών. “Η Διασπορά, οι απόδημοί μας, είστε αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της εθνικής μας δύναμης, της διεθνούς μας παρουσίας, της συλλογικής μας προσπάθειας, του αγώνα μας. Υπέρ της άμεσης επανέναρξης των διαπραγματεύσεων και της επανένωσης της Κύπρου διαδήλωσαν δεκάδες πολίτες έξω από το γραφείο του Αντιπροσώπου του ΟΗΕ στη Λευκωσία, με αφορμή την επίσκεψη του Γενικού Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, Αντόνιο Γκουτέρες. Η κινητοποίηση, πραγματοποιήθηκε υπό το σύνθημα «Ομοσπονδιακή Λύση Τώρα». Οι παρευρισκόμενοι φώναζαν συνθήματα όπως «Κύπρος Ενωμένη Ομοσπονδιακή» και «Η Κύπρος ανήκει στο λαό της», τα οποία κορυφώθηκαν κατά τη διέλευση της αυτοκινητοπομπής που μετέφερε τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας, Νίκο Χριστοδουλίδη, στο δείπνο που παραθέτει στους δύο ηγέτες ο ΓΓ του ΟΗΕ. Το παρών τους στην εκδήλωση έδωσαν πολιτικά πρόσωπα, μεταξύ των οποίων ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του ΑΚΕΛ, Στέφανος Στεφάνου, νυν και τέως βουλευτές του κόμματος, η πρώην Πρώτη Κυρία της Δημοκρατίας, Έλση Χριστόφια, καθώς και ο τέως Πρόεδρος και βουλευτής του ΔΗΣΥ, Αβέρωφ Νεοφύτου. Στο πλαίσιο της κινητοποίησης, η Χριστίνα Βαλανίδου ανέγνωσε, εκ μέρους της Δικοινοτικής Πρωτοβουλίας «Ενωμένη Κύπρος», κοινή δήλωση που συνυπογράφεται από 108 οργανώσεις. Μέσω της δήλωσης, οι οργανώσεις καλωσορίζουν τον ΓΓ του ΟΗΕ, υπογραμμίζουν την ανάγκη για επίλυση του Κυπριακού στη βάση της Διζωνικής Δικοινοτικής Ομοσπονδίας με πολιτική ισότητα, όπως καθορίζεται στα Ψηφίσματα του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας των Ηνωμένων Εθνών και ζητούν τη διαφύλαξη του διαπραγματευτικού κεκτημένου του Κραν Μοντανά, «με τις πλευρές να επικεντρώνονται στα εκκρεμή ζητήματα, όπως αυτά περιγράφονται στο πλαίσιο έξι σημείων του Γενικού Γραμματέα». «Αναγνωρίζουμε», προστίθεται, «ότι η νέα αυτή πρωτοβουλία του Γενικού Γραμματέα αντιμετωπίζει σημαντικά εμπόδια, σε ένα διεθνές και περιφερειακό περιβάλλον εξαιρετικά ρευστό και ασταθές. Στεκόμαστε ενωμένοι, ως λαός της Κύπρου, στηρίζοντας τις προσπάθειές του και εκφράζουμε την αποφασιστικότητά μας να συνεχίσουμε να το πράττουμε μέχρι να μπορέσει να ξεπεράσει αυτά τα εμπόδια». Οι 108 οργανώσεις εκφράζουν, μέσω της κοινής τους δήλωσης, βαθιά απογοήτευση για την έλλειψη προόδου στα Μέτρα Οικοδόμησης Εμπιστοσύνης (ΜΟΕ), στο ζήτημα της διάνοιξης νέων οδοφραγμάτων, καθώς και στο δικοινοτικό εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «IMAGINE». «Αναγνωρίζοντας την κρίσιμη συγκυρία κατά την οποία ο Γενικός Γραμματέας επισκέπτεται την Κύπρο και κατανοώντας ότι είναι απαραίτητο η τρέχουσα πρωτοβουλία του να στεφθεί με επιτυχία, επαναλαμβάνουμε την αποφασιστικότητα όλων των Κυπρίων, και από τις δύο πλευρές του διαχωρισμού, να σταθούμε ενωμένοι στηρίζοντας την επανένωση του νησιού μας στη βάση ενός Ομοσπονδιακού Συστήματος Διακυβέρνησης, ώστε να δημιουργηθούν οι προϋποθέσεις για μια ειρηνική Κύπρο για τις επόμενες γενιές, που θα αποτελέσει γέφυρα ειρήνης στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο» καταλήγει η κοινή δήλωση. Σε δηλώσεις του, ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του ΑΚΕΛ, Στέφανος Στεφάνου, χαρακτήρισε τη συγκυρία κρίσιμη. «Είναι σημαντική στιγμή η επίσκεψη του Γενικού Γραμματέα του Οργανισμού Ηνωμένων Εθνών και με αυτή την ευκαιρία οργανώνουμε αυτή την εκδήλωση για να μεταφέρουμε τα αισθήματα και τις απόψεις της πλειοψηφίας της κοινωνίας», ανέφερε. Ο κ. Στεφάνου πρόσθεσε ότι «θέλουμε μια λύση, η οποία να τερματίζει την κατοχή, να επανενώνει τον τόπο και τον λαό στη συμφωνημένη βάση που είναι η Διζωνική Δικοινοτική Ομοσπονδία» και η οποία «να αποκαθιστά τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα και τις βασικές ελευθερίες του λαού μας». Για να καταστεί αυτό εφικτό, υπέδειξε ο ΓΓ του ΑΚΕΛ, υπό τις παρούσες συνθήκες «και όπως έχουν διαμορφωθεί τα πράγματα από το 2017, μετά την αποτυχία της Διάσκεψης στο Κραν Μοντανά, είναι να διαφυλάξουμε το διαπραγματευτικό κεκτημένο, τις συγκλίσεις και να επικεντρωθούμε στα θέματα που έχουν απομείνει ανοιχτά για να μπορέσουμε να πετύχουμε στρατηγική συμφωνία, η οποία θα είναι ο δρόμος χωρίς επιστροφή προς την συνολική λύση στο Κυπριακό». Πρόσθεσε ότι, αυτή ήταν η προσέγγιση του Γενικού Γραμματέα του ΟΗΕ «για μερικά χρόνια μετά το 2017 και πάνω σε αυτή την γραμμή, θα έλεγα ότι συναντώνται οι δύο κοινότητες γιατί τόσο ο ελληνοκυπριακή πλευρά, όσο και η τουρκοκυπριακή πλευρά υποστηρίζουν συνέχιση των διαπραγματεύσεων από το σημείο που διακόπηκαν διαφυλάσσοντας τις συγκλίσεις». «Ιδού λοιπόν η Ρόδος» ανέφερε ο κ. Στεφάνου και κατέληξε λέγοντας ότι «αφού υπάρχει αυτή η κοινή θέση να την εφαρμόσουμε, να προχωρήσουμε και σύντομα μπορούμε να φτάσουμε σε λύση, αν και εφόσον υπάρξει η απαραίτητη πολιτική βούληση». Από την πλευρά του, ο τέως Πρόεδρος του ΔΗΣΥ, Αβέρωφ Νεοφύτου, σε δική του δήλωση, είπε ότι συμμετείχε στην κινητοποίηση «για να στείλουμε μαζί με τους πολίτες ένα μήνυμα, πως θέλουμε επανένωση της μοιρασμένης μας πατρίδας. Και να ευχαριστήσουμε τον Γενικό Γραμματέα, που τα 10 χρόνια της θητείας του αφιέρωσε πολύ χρόνο για το δικό μας πρόβλημα». Κλείνοντας, ο κ. Νεοφύτου εξέφρασε την ελπίδα η παρούσα προσπάθεια να στεφθεί με επιτυχία, λέγοντας ότι «ο χρόνος τσιμεντώνει την κατοχή και επί εδάφους και δυστυχώς, εξελικτικά και στις συνειδήσεις των πολιτών».
