Ο Ουκρανός πρόεδρος έκανε λόγο για μια «καλή συνάντηση» με τον Αμερικανό ομόλογό του Ντόναλντ Τραμπ στον Λευκό Οίκο, στη διάρκεια της οποίας οι δύο άνδρες αναφέρθηκαν στο ενδεχόμενο η Ουκρανία να παράξει πυραύλους για τα συστήματα Patriot, ζωτικής σημασίας για την αντιαεροπορική άμυνα του Κιέβου. «Ο πρόεδρος κι εγώ συζητήσαμε αναφορικά με την παροχή άδειας για την παραγωγή πυραύλων Patriot και άλλες ιδέες που θα μπορούσαν να βοηθήσουν», σημείωσε ο Ζελένσκι στο Χ μετά τη συνάντηση που πραγματοποιήθηκε κεκλεισμένων των θυρών στο Οβάλ Γραφείο. Αντιαεροπορική άμυνα Σύμφωνα με τον ΟΗΕ, ο Ιούνιος ήταν ο φονικότερος μήνας για τους Ουκρανούς αμάχους από τον Απρίλιο του 2022, καθώς η Ρωσία πολλαπλασίασε τις επιθέσεις με βαλλιστικούς πυραύλους, που είναι δύσκολο να αναχαιτιστούν. Μόνο τα αντιαεροπορικά συστήματα Patriot είναι ικανά να τους καταρρίψουν, όμως η Ουκρανία αντιμετωπίζει σοβαρή έλλειψη πυραύλων αναχαίτισης PAC-3. Τον Αύγουστο αναμένει νέες παραδόσεις βαλλιστικών πυραύλων από τη Βόρεια Κορέα. «Είναι κρίσιμης σημασίας να επιτρέψει η Ουάσιγκτον την αγορά μιας παρτίδας πυραύλων Patriot», πρόσθεσε, χωρίς να διευκρινίσει πόσους ζητά το Κίεβο. «Αρκετούς για να αναχαιτίσουμε όσους εκτοξεύει ο Πούτιν μέσα σε έναν μήνα», είπε μόνο «Πολλά θα εξαρτηθούν από τη διάθεση του προέδρου Τραμπ», παραδέχτηκε ο ίδιος. Μόνο τον Ιούλιο η Μόσχα εξαπέλυσε 120 βαλλιστικούς και αντιπλοϊκούς πυραύλους εναντίον της Ουκρανίας και από αυτούς αναχαιτίστηκαν οι 35, σύμφωνα με την πολεμική αεροπορία της Ουκρανίας. Συγκριτικά, ολόκληρο το 2024 η Ρωσία είχε εκτοξεύσει περί τους 250-320 πυραύλους, με βάση τις εκτιμήσεις ειδικών. Ρωσικά αεροπορικά πλήγματα προκάλεσαν τον θάνατο ενός ανθρώπου και τον τραυματισμό δύο στη Χερσώνα, στη δυτική Ουκρανία, στη διάρκεια της νύκτας της Τρίτης προς Τετάρτη, σύμφωνα με τις τοπικές αρχές. Από την πλευρά της η Ρωσία έκανε λόγο για μία γυναίκα που σκοτώθηκε και έναν άνδρα που τραυματίστηκε σε ουκρανικό αεροπορικό πλήγμα στην περιφέρεια Ροστόφ. Παράλληλα έξι άνθρωποι τραυματίστηκαν επίσης σε ουκρανική επίθεση με drones στην περιφέρεια Ριαζάν, νοτιοανατολικά της Μόσχας, σύμφωνα με τον τοπικό κυβερνήτη Πάβελ Μαλκόφ. «Είναι σημαντικό να αναβιώσει η διπλωματική διαδικασία» για να τερματιστεί η σύγκρουση υπογράμμισε ο Ζελένσκι στο Χ. Η συνάντηση του Ζελένσκι με τον Τραμπ έγινε στο περιθώριο της κηδείας του γερουσιαστή Λίντσεϊ Γκράχαμ, ο οποίος πέθανε στις 11 Ιουλίου, με τον Ουκρανό πρόεδρο να τον χαρακτηρίζει χθες «πραγματικό φίλο της Ουκρανίας». Μετά τον Λευκό Οίκο ο Ζελένσκι μετέβη στο Καπιτώλιο όπου απευθύνθηκε στους Αμερικανούς γερουσιαστές καλώντας τους να υιοθετήσουν νέες κυρώσεις εις βάρος της Ρωσίας τις οποίες φέρεται να εγκρίνει ο Τραμπ. Ωστόσο, η μη αναγραφή των ονομάτων του πατέρα και της μητέρας στις ταυτότητες δεν αποτελεί κυπριακή ιδιαιτερότητα. Στις περισσότερες χώρες της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης οι ταυτότητες περιλαμβάνουν αποκλειστικά τα στοιχεία που αφορούν τον ίδιο τον κάτοχο του εγγράφου, όπως το ονοματεπώνυμο, τη φωτογραφία, την ημερομηνία γέννησης, την υπηκοότητα, τον αριθμό του εγγράφου και τα απαιτούμενα βιομετρικά χαρακτηριστικά. Τα στοιχεία των γονέων, όπου χρειάζονται, προκύπτουν από άλλα επίσημα έγγραφα, όπως το πιστοποιητικό γέννησης ή τα εθνικά μητρώα πληθυσμού. Παράλληλα, ούτε τα διαβατήρια των κρατών-μελών της ΕΕ περιλαμβάνουν τα ονόματα των γονέων, καθώς η φιλοσοφία των σύγχρονων εγγράφων ταυτοποίησης είναι να περιέχουν μόνο τα απολύτως αναγκαία στοιχεία για την εξακρίβωση της ταυτότητας του κατόχου. Τι αλλάζει στην Κύπρο Υπενθυμίζεται ότι στην Κύπρο, από τον Ιούλιο του 2026, οι νέες βιομετρικές ταυτότητες εκδίδονται χωρίς να αναγράφονται τα ονοματεπώνυμα του πατέρα και της μητέρας. Παραμένουν, ωστόσο, όλα τα βασικά στοιχεία ταυτοποίησης του κατόχου, όπως η φωτογραφία, το όνομα, το επώνυμο, η ημερομηνία γέννησης, η υπηκοότητα, το φύλο, η υπογραφή, ο προσωπικός αριθμός και το ύψος. Σύμφωνα με το Υπουργείο Εσωτερικών, τα στοιχεία των γονέων εξακολουθούν να είναι διαθέσιμα μέσω του πιστοποιητικού γέννησης και του Συστήματος Αρχείου Πληθυσμού, στο οποίο έχουν πρόσβαση οι αρμόδιες κρατικές υπηρεσίες όταν αυτό απαιτείται. Τι προβλέπει ο Κανονισμός της ΕΕ Σημειώνεται πως ο Κανονισμός της ΕΕ δεν επιβάλλει στα κράτη-μέλη να αφαιρέσουν ή να διατηρήσουν τα ονόματα των γονέων στις ταυτότητες. Εκείνο που προβλέπει είναι κοινά ευρωπαϊκά πρότυπα ασφάλειας για τις ταυτότητες και τα έγγραφα διαμονής, ώστε να είναι πιο ασφαλή, αξιόπιστα και αναγνωρίσιμα σε ολόκληρη την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Μεταξύ άλλων, απαιτεί οι ταυτότητες να έχουν ενιαίο μέγεθος, μηχανικά αναγνώσιμη ζώνη, ενισχυμένα χαρακτηριστικά ασφαλείας, βιομετρικό μέσο αποθήκευσης και να συμμορφώνονται με τα πρότυπα του Διεθνούς Οργανισμού Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας. Ωστόσο, δεν καθορίζει ότι πρέπει να αναγράφονται τα ονόματα των γονέων, αφήνοντας το συγκεκριμένο ζήτημα στη διακριτική ευχέρεια κάθε κράτους-μέλους.
