Σύμφωνα με τον ανταποκριτή του Σίγμα, Μάριο Ιγνατίου, λόγω του δυνατου αέρα που πνέει στην περιοχή το έργο των δασοπυροσβεστων καθίσταται ιδιαίτερα δύσκολο. Ο Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός κατηγορεί την κυβέρνηση ότι επιχειρεί να μεταθέσει τις ευθύνες της για την απόφαση αφαίρεσης των στοιχείων «όνομα πατρός» και «όνομα μητρός» από τις νέες ταυτότητες, υποστηρίζοντας παράλληλα ότι παραπληροφορεί σε σχέση με τις θέσεις του κόμματος. Σε ανακοίνωσή του, ο ΔΗΣΥ αναφέρει ότι, υπό το βάρος της κοινωνικής αντίδρασης, η κυβέρνηση επιχειρεί να αποδώσει αλλού την ευθύνη για τη μονομερή, όπως τη χαρακτηρίζει, απόφασή της να αφαιρέσει τα συγκεκριμένα πεδία από τις ταυτότητες. Το κόμμα υποστηρίζει ακόμη ότι η θέση του στο ζήτημα ήταν εξαρχής ξεκάθαρη, παραπέμποντας σε ανακοίνωσή του με ημερομηνία 25 Μαΐου 2022, στην οποία, όπως αναφέρει, σημειωνόταν πως «ο Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός δεν υποστηρίζει την κατάργηση της αναγραφής των γονέων του παιδιού από τις ταυτότητες αλλά το δικαίωμα της εθελοντικής εξαίρεσης». Ο ΔΗΣΥ επαναλαμβάνει ότι διαφωνεί με την αφαίρεση των πεδίων «όνομα πατρός» και «όνομα μητρός» από τις ταυτότητες, εκτός εάν αυτό ζητηθεί από τον ίδιο τον πολίτη. Παράλληλα, καλεί την κυβέρνηση να προχωρήσει άμεσα στη διόρθωση της απόφασής της, αντί, όπως αναφέρει, να επιχειρεί να μεταθέσει τις ευθύνες της μέσω παραπληροφόρησης. Τέλος, σημειώνει ότι έχει ήδη ετοιμάσει σχετική πρόταση νόμου, την οποία προτίθεται να καταθέσει στη Βουλή των Αντιπροσώπων, με στόχο να διασφαλιστεί η δυνατότητα επιλογής των πολιτών ως προς την αναγραφή των στοιχείων των γονέων στις ταυτότητές τους.
