Ο Πρόεδρος είπε ότι αισθάνεται "ιδιαίτερη τιμή και πραγματικά αντλώ δύναμη από τη φιλία και την ειλικρινή σχέση που μας ενώνει από τα φοιτητικά μου ακόμη χρόνια στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ΄90. Μια σχέση που δοκιμάστηκε στον χρόνο, ενισχύεται συνεχώς και την οποία εκτιμώ βαθύτατα. Θα ήθελα απόψε με την ευκαιρία αυτή, να σας ευχαριστήσω". Το φετινό Συνέδριο, σημείωσε, γίνεται σε μια κρίσιμη συγκυρία για το Κυπριακό. "Χθες και σήμερα είχαμε την επίσκεψη του Γενικού Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών στην πατρίδα μας ως ένδειξη και του ενισχυμένου ενδιαφέροντος από πλευράς της διεθνούς κοινότητας, των ΗΕ και της ΕΕ. Σε αυτή τη μεγάλη προσπάθεια, με σχέδιο, με στρατηγική που υλοποιούμε από την πρώτη μέρα ανάληψης της διακυβέρνησης του τόπου, αξιοποιούμε αποφασιστικά την ιδιότητα μας ως κράτος μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και τον ουσιαστικό ρόλο που η Ένωση πραγματικά μπορεί να διαδραματίσει τόσο για επανέναρξη των διαπραγματεύσεων αλλά και σε σχέση με το περιεχόμενο της λύσης" τόνισε. Χάρη στις δικές μας προσπάθειες, είπε ο Πρόεδρος, " έχει καταστεί πλέον σαφές ότι το Κυπριακό είναι ευρωπαϊκό πρόβλημα που αποτελεί προτεραιότητα για την ΕΕ, αυτό καταγράφεται ξεκάθαρα στα Συμπεράσματα του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου του Απριλίου 2024, μετά από μεγάλη προσπάθεια που καταβάλαμε". "Επιβεβαιώνεται και από την απόφαση της Προέδρου της Επιτροπής να διορίσει τον Εκτελεστικό Αντιπρόεδρο της Επιτροπής ως Ειδικό Απεσταλμένο για το Κυπριακό, ο κ. Φίτο θα είναι την Παρασκευή στην Κύπρο. Αυτό επιβεβαιώνεται και από την κοινή επιστολή της Προέδρου της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής και του Προέδρου του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου προς τον Γενικό Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών τον Μάρτιο του 2025 που μιλά ξεκάθαρα για τις αρχές, τις αξίες και το Δίκαιο της ΕΕ". Σε αυτή τη μεγάλη προσπάθεια, είπε απευθυνόμενος στους απόδημους, "η δική σας συμβολή είναι ανεκτίμητη, είναι καθοριστικής σημασίας". "Όλοι εσείς, οι Απόδημοι, υπερβαίνοντας διαχωριστικές γραμμές και πολιτικές διαφοροποιήσεις, λειτουργείτε ως ένα ενιαίο σύνολο και μάς δείχνετε στην πράξη τον δρόμο που πρέπει να ακολουθούμε στην Κύπρο. Αποδεικνύετε στην πράξη το διαχρονικό «Ισχύς εν τη ενώσει». Αποδεικνύετε στην πράξη ότι η ενότητα και η συνεργασία ενδυναμώνουν τη φωνή της πατρίδας μας και αποτελούν πολύτιμη παρακαταθήκη για τις επόμενες γενιές. Και θέλω σήμερα εκ μέρους της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, εκ μέρους του κυπριακού λαού να σας ευχαριστήσω για όλα αυτά που κάνετε για την πατρίδα μας" υπογράμμισε. Συνεχίζοντας για το Κυπριακό, είπε ότι ο διορισμός ενός εν ενεργεία αξιωματούχου της ΕΕ, η εντατικοποίηση της προσπάθειας του Γενικού Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, όπως είδαμε και μέσα από την επίσκεψη του στην Κύπρο και μέσα από πολλές άλλες κινήσεις σε διεθνές επίπεδο, δεν προέκυψαν τυχαία. Είναι, πρόσθεσε, " αποτέλεσμα πολύ συγκεκριμένης στρατηγικής που αποδεικνύει στην πράξη πως όταν έχουμε ξεκάθαρους στόχους και στρατηγική μπορούμε να φέρουμε αποτελέσματα τα οποία στόχο έχουν να αναβαθμίσουν όλους τους παράγοντες ισχύος της χώρας μας". "Σε διεθνές επίπεδο, μέσα από μια πολυδιάστατη και ενεργό εξωτερική πολιτική, με ξεκάθαρο δυτικό - ευρωπαϊκό προσανατολισμό, που επενδύει στην εξωστρέφεια της χώρας μας, που διεκδικεί ρόλο και λόγο στα των Βρυξελλών, που αναδεικνύει τις δυνατότητες της χώρας και των ανθρώπων μας. Και δεν υπάρχει καλύτερο παράδειγμα που αποδεικνύει αυτό από την ενάσκηση της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ. Ακούσατε όχι τι λέμε εμείς, αλλά σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο τι ανέφεραν οι Προέδροι των Θεσμών, οι ηγέτες των κρατών μελών, όλα αυτά που δικαιολογημένα μάς κάνουν περήφανους" συμπλήρωσε ο Πρόεδρος Χριστοδουλίδης. Εσωτερικά θέματα Αναφερόμενος σε εσωτερικά θέματα, είπε ότι είναι συνεχείς είναι οι ενέργειές μας για να αντιμετωπίσουμε προκλήσεις, όπως το μεταναστευτικό, σημειώνοντας ότι "τα δεδομένα είναι εκεί για να τα δει οποιοσδήποτε, τι παραλάβαμε τον Μάρτιο του 2023 και ποια είναι η κατάσταση σήμερα- η ενίσχυση της αποτρεπτικής ισχύος της πατρίδας μας, η ενίσχυση της ανθεκτικότητας της κυπριακής οικονομίας-τα δεδομένα είναι δημοσίως γνωστά για όλους να τα δουν- μια οικονομία που μας επιτρέπει να επιστρέφουμε την πρόοδο και την ανάπτυξη πίσω στην κοινωνία, γιατί αυτό είναι το δόγμα της δικής μας Κυβέρνησης, η πολιτική μας φιλοσοφία, ο κοινωνικός φιλελευθερισμός, να μπορούμε να επενδύουμε στην Υγεία, στην Παιδεία, στο Κράτος Πρόνοιας, στο στεγαστικό και σε όλα αυτά που πρέπει να επιστρέψουμε στην κοινωνία". Τιμητικές διακρίσεις Στη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης τιμήθηκαν Κύπριοι της διασποράς και φίλοι της Κύπρου. "Η σημερινή σας αναγνώριση δεν αποτελεί μόνο επιβράβευση της πορείας σας. Είναι, πρωτίστως, ένα μεγάλο και ειλικρινές «ευχαριστώ» της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και του κυπριακού λαού για όσα έχετε προσφέρει και συνεχίζετε να προσφέρετε στην πατρίδα μας και στους ανθρώπους της" είπε απευθυνόμενος σε όσους τιμήθηκαν. "Εκ μέρους της Πολιτείας και του κυπριακού λαού, σας εκφράζω τις θερμότερες ευχαριστίες και τα πιο ειλικρινή μας συγχαρητήρια. Να είστε πάντοτε περήφανοι για την Κύπρο, όπως ακριβώς είμαστε εμείς περήφανοι για όλους εσάς". Συγκεκριμένα, στην κατηγορία «Διακεκριμένος Κύπριος στο Εξωτερικό» τιμήθηκαν δύο προσωπικότητες που διακρίθηκαν διεθνώς για το έργο και την προσφορά τους. "Η Anthe Phillipides, η οποία, ως Δικαστής του Ανωτάτου Δικαστηρίου και του Εφετείου της Πολιτείας του Κουίνσλαντ, διαγράφει μια λαμπρή πορεία στον χώρο της Δικαιοσύνης, αποτελώντας πρότυπο ακεραιότητας, επαγγελματισμού και αφοσίωσης στο κράτος δικαίου. Και όλα αυτά μαζί με τη συνεχή συμμετοχή της στην παροικία μας στην Αυστραλία, με συνεχή παρουσία στον αγώνα να διατηρήσει ζωντανούς τους δεσμούς της με την ελληνική και κυπριακή της καταγωγή, για την οποία είναι ιδιαίτερα περήφανη" είπε ο Πρόεδρος. Τιμούμε, επίσης, πρόσθεσε, την Catherine Sophia Constantinides, "μια διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη ακτιβίστρια για το Κλίμα και τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα, η οποία έχει αναδειχθεί σε μία από τις σημαντικότερες φωνές της αφρικανικής ηπείρου και όχι μόνο. Στην κατηγορία «Κύπριοι Ομογενείς με μακρόχρονη και ουσιαστική προσφορά προς την Κύπρο» τιμούμε, είπε, ανθρώπους που αφιέρωσαν δεκαετίες, υπηρετώντας τα εθνικά μας δίκαια και τη συνοχή της κυπριακής διασποράς, και φυσικά, δεν έχουν αποστρατευτεί και ούτε θα σταματήσουν να αγωνίζονται επειδή θα τους τιμήσουμε απόψε. "Τον φίλο κ. Αντρέα Παπαευρυπίδη, ο οποίος, ανάμεσα σε πάρα πολλά άλλα, ως Πρόεδρος της Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Αποδήμων Κυπρίων επί 12 συναπτά έτη, εργάστηκε ακούραστα για την προώθηση των εθνικών μας θεμάτων, αναπτύσσοντας ουσιαστικό διάλογο με πολιτειακούς παράγοντες του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου και ενισχύοντας τη διεθνή ενημέρωση γύρω από το Κυπριακό". Είχα την ευλογία, είπε ο Πρόεδρος, " να γνωρίσω τον Αντρέα το 2002 όταν πήγα στο Λονδίνο Γενικός Πρόξενος, όπως και όλα τα μέλη της παροικίας μας στο Λονδίνο. Και εδώ είναι ένα κλασικό παράδειγμα που αφήνοντας στο περιθώριο τις όποιες διαφορετικές πολιτικές, κομματικές καταβολές, πάντα ενώνουν δυνάμεις όλοι τους για το καλό της πατρίδας μας". "Τον κ. Dino Miltiadous, ο οποίος, ως συνιδρυτής και επί σειρά ετών Πρόεδρος των Pancyprians of Washington, συνέβαλε καθοριστικά στη διατήρηση και προβολή της κυπριακής ταυτότητας στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, προωθώντας την ιστορία, τον πολιτισμό και τη συνοχή της κυπριακής μας παροικίας". Επίσης, "τον φίλο κ. Ευαγόρα Μαυρομμάτη, για τη διαχρονική του συμβολή στην προώθηση των εθνικών θεμάτων της Κύπρου στη Γαλλία και ευρύτερα στην Ευρώπη, μέσα από τη δράση του στην κυπριακή ομογένεια και την προεδρία της Ομοσπονδίας Κυπριακών Οργανώσεων Υπόλοιπης Ευρώπης. Ο Ευαγόρας διαδραμάτισε και ήταν για πολλά χρόνια θιασώτης της ουσιαστικής ενίσχυσης της σχέσης της Κύπρου με τη Γαλλία και θέλω να πιστεύω ότι είναι ευχαριστημένος σήμερα για το επίπεδο των σχέσεων μας με τη Γαλλία, είδαμε δείγματα γραφής πολύ πρόσφατα με την επίσκεψη του Γάλλου Προέδρου στην Κύπρο". Ακόμα, τιμήθηκε ο Ελευθέριος Γαβριηλίδης, "ο οποίος υπηρέτησε επί σειρά ετών ως Επίτιμος Πρόξενος της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στη Φινλανδία. Η πολυδιάστατη προσφορά του στην ενίσχυση των διμερών σχέσεων, στην προώθηση των κυπριακών προϊόντων, του πολιτισμού και της γλώσσας, καθώς και η ανιδιοτελής στήριξή του προς τους Κύπριους συμπατριώτες μας και την Πρεσβεία μας στο Ελσίνκι- ο Πρέσβης μας στο Ελσίνκι Δημήτρης Σαμουήλ μόνο τα καλύτερα έχει να αναφέρει για τη δράση του - αποτελούν παράδειγμα προσφοράς και φιλοπατρίας". Ιδιαίτερη σημασία, τόνισε ο Πρόεδρος, έχει και η διάκριση στην κατηγορία «Ξένη Προσωπικότητα με εξαιρετική συμβολή στην υποστήριξη των κυπριακών εθνικών θεμάτων ή και στη διεθνή εικόνα της χώρας». Φέτος, είπε, τιμούμε τον Ari Babikian "ο οποίος έχει αποδείξει διαχρονικά ότι η φιλία και αγάπη του προς την Κύπρο μπορεί να μετατραπεί σε ουσιαστική πολιτική δράση. Διαφορετικές εκτιμήσεις υπάρχουν στα κατεχόμενα για την επίσκεψη Γκουτέρες. Το ΡΤΚ σε ανακοίνωσή του το απόγευμα αναφέρει ότι ο οδικός χάρτης που ανακοίνωσε ο ΓΓ του ΟΗΕ προσφέρει μια σημαντική ευκαιρία για την επίλυση του Kυπριακού και εκφράζει στήριξη στην απόφαση για τη διεξαγωγή νέας διευρυμένης συνάντησης 5+1 μετά την ολοκλήρωση των απαραίτητων προετοιμασιών. Μια νέα συνάντηση δεν θα πρέπει απλώς να δίνει την εντύπωση ότι η διαδικασία συνεχίζεται, αλλά θα πρέπει να «παράγει συγκεκριμένα αποτελέσματα που θα ανοίξουν το δρόμο για μια λύση», προστίθεται. «Η συμφωνία για την πρόοδο στη διαδικασία, τη μεθοδολογία και τα μέτρα οικοδόμησης εμπιστοσύνης που είναι προσανατολισμένα στα αποτελέσματα είναι θετική», αναφέρει. Θεωρεί επίσης ικανοποιητικό το γεγονός ότι η προσέγγιση του Τ/κ ηγέτη στη διαδικασία, τη μεθοδολογία και τα μέτρα οικοδόμησης εμπιστοσύνης, έχει ληφθεί υπόψη και έχει γίνει θετικά αποδεκτή από τον Γενικό Γραμματέα και τα εμπλεκόμενα μέρη. Τα βήματα που πρέπει να γίνουν στους τομείς της άμυνας, της ασφάλειας, του εμπορίου, της ενέργειας και της εξωτερικής πολιτικής, που αφορούν ολόκληρη την Κύπρο, δεν πρέπει να δημιουργήσουν νέες εντάσεις, να βλάψουν την προοπτική μιας λύσης ή να εκθέσουν ολόκληρο το νησί στους κινδύνους περιφερειακών συγκρούσεων, σύμφωνα με το ΡΤΚ. Το «υπεξ» με ανακοίνωσή του επίσης το απόγευμα χαιρέτισε την ανακοίνωση του τουρκικού ΥΠΕΞ για την επίσκεψη Γκουτέρες και επαναλαμβάνει ότι η επαναφορά στην ημερήσια διάταξη των εδώ και καιρό εξαντλημένων και επανειλημμένα αποδεδειγμένα ανεπιτυχών μοντέλων συμφωνίας για την Κύπρο είναι ασυμβίβαστη με τις τρέχουσες πραγματικότητες. «Η ύπαρξη δύο ξεχωριστών λαών, δύο ξεχωριστών δημοκρατιών και δύο ανεξάρτητων και κυρίαρχων κρατικών δομών στο νησί είναι ένα αναμφισβήτητο γεγονός. Οποιαδήποτε διαδικασία διεξάγεται αγνοώντας αυτήν την πραγματικότητα δεν μπορεί να επιτύχει», υποστηρίζει. Μια δίκαιη, διαρκής και βιώσιμη συμφωνία για την Κύπρο μπορεί να επιτευχθεί μόνο με βάση την επιβεβαίωση των εγγενών δικαιωμάτων του τουρκοκυπριακού «λαού», την αποδοχή της κυριαρχικής ισότητάς του και το ισότιμο διεθνές καθεστώς του, προστίθεται. Η συμφωνία για μια νέα συνάντηση 5+1 αποτελεί μια σημαντική ευκαιρία και η διαδικασία θα πρέπει να προχωρήσει με τρόπο προσανατολισμένο στα αποτελέσματα, αναφέρει σε ανακοίνωσή του το ΚΚΔ. Προστίθεται ότι ο Γενικός Γραμματέας των ΗΕ ζήτησε πρόοδο στα μέτρα οικοδόμησης εμπιστοσύνης, τη μεθοδολογία και το περιεχόμενο πριν από τη σύνοδο κορυφής, υποδεικνύοντας σαφώς την απροθυμία του να πραγματοποιήσει μια συνάντηση 5+1 που θα κατέληγε σε αποτυχία και δεν θα παρήγαγε συγκεκριμένα αποτελέσματα. Η οικοδόμηση μιας δίκαιης και διαρκούς λύσης στην Κύπρο είναι απαραίτητη για την προστασία των δικαιωμάτων των Τ/κ, αναφέρεται και προστίθεται ότι το ΚΚΔ θέλει μια λύση, όχι μια διαδικασία. Καμία ανησυχία για την επίσκεψη Γκουτέρες ανέφερε σε ανάρτησή του ο πρόεδρος του Κόμματος Αναγέννηση των εποίκων, Ερχάν Αρικλί, παραπέμποντας στην ανακοίνωση του τουρκικού ΥΠΕΞ που δηλώνει σαφώς ότι η Τουρκία δεν είχε καμία πρόθεση να κάνει την παραμικρή παραχώρηση στην τρέχουσα πολιτική της για την Κύπρο. Από την άλλη, υποστήριξε, δεν υπήρξε η παραμικρή αλλαγή στις στάσεις των Ελλήνων και Ελληνοκυπρίων ηγετών. Αν δεν υπάρχει αλλαγή στη νοοτροπία των πλευρών τι έκανε ο Γκουτέρες στην Κύπρο, διερωτήθηκε και σημειώνοντας την αναφορά του ΓΓ του ΟΗΕ πως αν οι Κύπριοι δεν συμφωνήσουν, μπορεί σύντομα να επηρεαστούν από τους κινδύνους στην περιοχή, ο κ. Αρικλί έγραψε στην ανάρτησή του: «Τα μάτια μου γέμισαν δάκρυα ακούγοντας την ευαισθησία αυτού του ανθρώπου. Δεν ανησυχούσε για την κατάσταση εκατομμυρίων που επλήγησαν από τους πολέμους, αλλά για τον πιθανό αντίκτυπο στον πληθυσμό του νησιού. Ήρθε μέχρι εδώ μόνο και μόνο για να μας προειδοποιήσει. Φυσικά, όσοι εναπόθεσαν τις ελπίδες τους σε αυτό το τουριστικό ταξίδι, όσοι έτρεφαν γαλήνια όνειρα βασισμένα σε διάφορες θεωρίες συνωμοσίας, απογοητεύτηκαν για πολλοστή φορά. Αλλά τουλάχιστον βρήκαν κάποιο υλικό για άσκοπη φλυαρία για μερικούς μήνες». Ο πρόεδρος του ΚΛ και πρώην διαπραγματευτής, Κουντρέτ Οζερσάι σε δική του ανάρτηση σημείωσε την προσέγγιση του ΓΓ πως θα συγκαλέσει μια συνάντηση 5+1 μόνο αν οι πλευρές εδώ καταλήξουν σε συμφωνία κι αφού γίνει επαρκής προετοιμασία. Είναι δήλωση πρόθεσης για τη σύγκλιση 5+1. είπε, με την υποχρέωση προόδου σε: 1) μέτρα οικοδόμησης εμπιστοσύνης, 2) διαδικασία/μεθοδολογία, 3) την ουσία/πυρήνα του προβλήματος. «Αλλά θα μπορέσουν τα μέρη να επιτύχουν επαρκή προετοιμασία ή/και προσέγγιση ή/και πρόοδο σε αυτά τα τρία ζητήματα μέσω διαπραγματεύσεων μεταξύ τους; Έχω σοβαρές αμφιβολίες, γιατί αν μπορούσαν, και αν δεν υπήρχαν σοβαρές διαφωνίες σε αυτά τα ζητήματα, θα το είχαν κάνει ήδη χωρίς την ανάγκη της επίσκεψης του Γενικού Γραμματέα», πρόσθεσε. Κατά τον κ. Οζερσάι η επίσκεψη Γκουτέρες σαφώς δεν βοήθησε στην επίτευξη προόδου σε αυτά τα τρία σημαντικά ζητήματα κι αν δεν επιλυθούν οι διαφωνίες μεταξύ των πλευρών σε αυτά, η πρόσκληση για συνάντηση 5+1 δεν θα σταλεί και δεν πρέπει να σταλεί, επειδή, όπως είπε και ο κ. Έρχιουρμαν, η μετάβαση σε μια τέτοια συνάντηση με αυτόν τον τρόπο θα οδηγήσει σε άλλη μια αποτυχία. Τη φράση του ΓΓ να συγκαλέσει μια ακόμη συνάντηση 5+1 μετά από επαρκείς προετοιμασίες για την οικοδόμηση εμπιστοσύνης, τη μεθοδολογία και την ουσία, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις συγκλίσεις που έχουν ήδη επιτευχθεί, υπογράμμισε σε δική του ανάρτηση και ο Οζντίλ Ναμί, πρώην διαπραγματευτής της τ/κ πλευράς. Ο κ. Ναμί θεωρεί ότι υπάρχουν λίγα νέα στοιχεία σε αυτή τη δήλωση και σημειώνει ότι ο κ. Γκουτέρες έχει ήδη καταστήσει σαφές ότι η εποχή των ανοιχτών διαπραγματεύσεων έχει περάσει και κάθε νέα διαδικασία πρέπει να είναι προσανατολισμένη στα αποτελέσματα. «Αυτό που είναι πιο ανησυχητικό είναι ότι η διατύπωσή του είναι προβληματική για διάφορους λόγους. Πρώτον, θα έπρεπε να γνωρίζει ότι εάν δεν υπάρχει συμφωνία για τη μεθοδολογία, δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει συμφωνία για την ουσία. Αυτή η αλληλουχία λείπει από τη δήλωσή του», ανέφερε. Δεύτερον, γράφει ο κ. Ναμί, εάν δεν υπάρχει ρεαλιστική προοπτική προόδου στα βασικά ζητήματα, υπάρχει μικρή προοπτική ουσιαστικής προόδου και σε ουσιαστικά ΜΟΕ και τρίτον, η φράση «λαμβάνοντας υπόψη» τις προηγούμενες συγκλίσεις δεν τις σέβεται. «Αυτό αντιπροσωπεύει ένα βήμα προς τα πίσω. Και οι δύο ηγέτες έχουν ήδη δηλώσει την ετοιμότητά τους να επαναλάβουν τις διαπραγματεύσεις από εκεί που σταμάτησαν στο Κραν-Μοντάνα, σεβόμενοι πλήρως τις συγκλίσεις που επιτεύχθηκαν εκεί. Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας θα έπρεπε να τους είχε κρατήσει σε αυτή τη δέσμευση», πρόσθεσε. Για άλλη μια φορά, συνεχίζει ο Οζντίλ Ναμί, η Κύπρος άφησε μια σημαντική ευκαιρία να χαθεί και σε μια εποχή που η περιοχή μας γίνεται ολοένα και πιο ταραγμένη, θα πρέπει να κατευθυνόμαστε προς το ασφαλές λιμάνι της Ευρώπης, όχι να παρασυρόμαστε σε ολοένα και πιο τρικυμιώδη νερά. «Ποιος φταίει; Ίσως, τελικά, όλοι μας φταίμε», καταλήγει. Non-performing loans in Cyprus remained almost unchanged at €830 mln in April, dropping marginally from the previous month and slightly below end-2025 levels.
