Σημαντική συμφωνία στον ενεργειακό τομέα ανακοίνωσε η Τουρκία, με την κρατική πετρελαϊκή εταιρεία TPAO να αποκτά ποσοστό 15% στην BP Energy Company of Kirkuk Limited (BP ECKL), αποκτώντας παρουσία στα πετρελαϊκά πεδία του Κιρκούκ στο Ιράκ. Τη συμφωνία ανακοίνωσε ο Τούρκος Πρόεδρος Ρετζέπ Ταγίπ Ερντογάν, χαρακτηρίζοντάς την «ιστορικό βήμα» για την ενεργειακή συνεργασία. Η παλιά ενεργειακή συμφωνία μεταξύ Τουρκίας και Ιράκ, που υπογράφηκε το 1975, έληξε στις 27 Ιουλίου. Ο Ιρακινός πρωθυπουργός Αλί αλ-Ζαϊντί, από την πλευρά του, δήλωσε: «Μπορούμε να προμηθεύσουμε την Τουρκία με 1 εκατομμύριο βαρέλια πετρελαίου την ημέρα. Δεν χρειάζεται να εξαρτάστε από κανέναν άλλο». Η ανακοίνωση έγινε κατά τη διάρκεια κοινής συνέντευξης Τύπου στην Άγκυρα με τον Ιρακινό πρωθυπουργό Αλί αλ-Ζαϊντί. Ο Ερντογάν δήλωσε ότι η κρατική εταιρεία Turkish Petroleum θα αποκτήσει μερίδιο 15% στην BP Energy Company of Kirkuk Limited, η οποία διαχειρίζεται το πετρελαϊκό κοίτασμα Kirkuk στο βόρειο Ιράκ. Αλλά στην περίπτωση του Ιράκ, υπάρχουν δύο άλλες διαστάσεις: η ασφάλεια και το έργο ανάπτυξης του δρόμου». Η συμφωνία, επομένως, υπερβαίνει τον εφοδιασμό της Τουρκίας με πετρέλαιο και στοχεύει στην ενίσχυση της συνεργασίας με το Ιράκ στον τομέα της ασφάλειας και των έργων υποδομής. Κατά τη γνώμη του, το περιφερειακό πλαίσιο έχει επιταχύνει την προσέγγιση μεταξύ Άγκυρας και Βαγδάτης. Διορία πέντε ημερών στις αρμόδιες κρατικές Αρχές ώστε να δώσουν πλήρη και αιτιολογημένη απάντηση σχετικά με τη διερεύνηση υπόθεσης σοβαρής επίθεσης θέτει με επιστολή του προς τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας, τον Γενικό Εισαγγελέα, τον Υπουργό Δικαιοσύνης και Δημοσίας Τάξεως και τον Αρχηγό Αστυνομίας, ο δικηγόρος Αλέξανδρος Κληρίδης, προειδοποιώντας ότι σε διαφορετική περίπτωση θα προσφύγει σε θεσμούς της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Σύμφωνα με την επιστολή του, που δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα, ο κ. Κληρίδης αναφέρει ότι ενεργεί εκ μέρους άνδρα, ο οποίος, σύμφωνα με τους ισχυρισμούς του, υπήρξε θύμα ιδιαίτερα σοβαρής επίθεσης στις 17 Ιανουαρίου του 2026 έξω από την Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση Λάρνακας. Όπως αναφέρει, ομάδα προσώπων που φέρεται να κρατούσε τσεκούρια, μαχαίρια και άλλα επιθετικά όργανα, επιτέθηκε εναντίον του πελάτη του, ενώ αυτός βρισκόταν στο έδαφος, με αποτέλεσμα να υποστεί σοβαρές σωματικές βλάβες, μεταξύ των οποίων κάταγμα κρανίου και κάταγμα αγκώνα. Σύμφωνα με την επιστολή, παρά τη σοβαρότητα του περιστατικού, την ύπαρξη βιντεοληπτικού υλικού, την αναγνώριση των εμπλεκομένων και τη λήψη καταθέσεων, μέχρι σήμερα δεν έχει καταχωριστεί ποινική υπόθεση εναντίον των φερόμενων δραστών. Αντίθετα, όπως υποστηρίζει, ποινική υπόθεση καταχωρίστηκε άμεσα εναντίον του ίδιου του πελάτη του για ισχυρισμό «σαφώς μικρότερης σοβαρότητας», που αφορά τα γεγονότα της ίδιας ημέρας. Ο κ. Κληρίδης αναφέρει ότι είχε αποστείλει σχετική καταγγελία προς την Προεδρία της Δημοκρατίας και το Υπουργείο Δικαιοσύνης και Δημοσίας Τάξεως, ενώ σημειώνει ότι το Υπουργείο, με επιστολή ημερομηνίας 10 Ιουλίου του 2026, διαβίβασε την καταγγελία στον Αρχηγό Αστυνομίας, ζητώντας ενημέρωση τόσο προς τον ίδιο όσο και προς το Υπουργείο. Ωστόσο, σύμφωνα με την επιστολή, μέχρι σήμερα δεν έχει δοθεί συγκεκριμένη και αιτιολογημένη ενημέρωση ως προς το κατά πόσο και πότε ο φάκελος διαβιβάστηκε στη Νομική Υπηρεσία, εάν έχουν εκδοθεί οδηγίες ή ζητηθεί συμπληρωματική διερεύνηση, ποιο είναι το σημερινό στάδιο της υπόθεσης, εάν έχει ληφθεί απόφαση για άσκηση ή μη ποινικής δίωξης και ποιο είναι το χρονοδιάγραμμα ολοκλήρωσης της διαδικασίας. Στην επιστολή γίνεται επίκληση των διατάξεων του Νόμου 51(Ι)/2016 για τα δικαιώματα των θυμάτων εγκλήματος και της Οδηγίας 2012/29/ΕΕ, με τον δικηγόρο να υποστηρίζει ότι εγείρονται ζητήματα συμμόρφωσης των αρμόδιων αρχών ως προς τις υποχρεώσεις ενημέρωσης, προστασίας και σεβασμού των δικαιωμάτων του θύματος. Παράλληλα, γίνεται αναφορά στη διαδικαστική υποχρέωση της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, δυνάμει του άρθρου 3 της Ευρωπαϊκής Σύμβασης Δικαιωμάτων του Ανθρώπου, για αποτελεσματική διερεύνηση αξιόπιστων ισχυρισμών σοβαρής σωματικής βίας. Διορία 5 ημέρων Ο κ. Κληρίδης αναφέρει ότι, εάν δεν υπάρξει ικανοποίηση των αιτημάτων του εντός πέντε ημερών, προτίθεται να υποβάλει καταγγελία στην Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή για, όπως υποστηρίζει, μη αποτελεσματική εφαρμογή από την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία των υποχρεώσεων που απορρέουν από την Οδηγία 2012/29/ΕΕ, καθώς και αναφορά στην Επιτροπή Αναφορών του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου. Με την επιστολή ζητείται, μεταξύ άλλων, να διερευνηθούν οι λόγοι της καθυστέρησης, να γνωστοποιηθεί η πορεία του φακέλου, να παρασχεθεί συγκεκριμένη ενημέρωση για το σημερινό στάδιο της υπόθεσης, να εξεταστεί κατά πόσο τηρήθηκαν οι υποχρεώσεις της Αστυνομίας δυνάμει της σχετικής νομοθεσίας και να δοθεί πλήρης και αιτιολογημένη γραπτή απάντηση εντός πέντε ημερών.
