Ιστορικό ρεκόρ κατέγραψε το μεσημέρι της Πέμπτη η ζήτηση ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας, είπε στο ΚΥΠΕ ο Βοηθός Διευθυντής του Εθνικού Κέντρο Ελέγχου Ενέργειας του Διαχειριστή Συστήματος Μεταφοράς Κύπρου, Χάρης Ζαβαλλής. Παρόλα αυτά, ο κ. Ζαβαλλής εκτίμησε ότι δεν θα χρειαστεί να γίνουν περικοπές ρεύματος. "Σήμερα είχαμε ρεκόρ ζήτησης όλων των ετών. Είμαστε πάνω από 1.370MW το μεσημέρι, μπορεί να προσεγγίσουμε και τα 1.380, παρόλο που η πρόβλεψή μας ήταν για 1.350+", είπε. Σύμφωνα με τα στοιχεία που παρατίθενται στην ιστοσελίδα του ΔΣΜΚ, στις 14:45 η συνολική ζήτηση ανερχόταν σε 1.372MW. Η πρωτοβουλία μας ενίσχυσε το αίσθημα ασφάλειας και αλληλεγγύης σε μία δύσκολη περίοδο για τους κατοίκους της περιοχής, και ανέδειξε τη σημασία της υπεύθυνης και άμεσης εταιρικής ανταπόκρισης σε περιόδους κρίσεων, πάντα σε συνεργασία με τους τοπικούς φορείς, με στόχο την βελτίωση των συνθηκών διαβίωσης και την βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη και ανθεκτικότητα της υπαίθρου. Θα είμαστε δίπλα τους, μέχρι να παραδοθούν τα έργα στις κοινότητες στις οποίες ανήκουν. Η χρηματοδότηση των έργων υποδομής προέρχεται από το συνολικό ποσό που ο Όμιλος ΧΜ ανακοίνωσε ότι διέθεσε για την αναζωογόνηση των πυρόπληκτων περιοχών. Ένα μέρος των 5 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ, που ο Όμιλος ΧΜ δεσμεύθηκε να προσφέρει, καταβλήθηκε άμεσα σε οικογένειες που έχασαν τα σπίτια τους στις φωτιές. Τώρα αρχίζουμε το έργο της αναζωογόνησης της περιοχής με τέσσερα σημαντικά έργα υποδομής στο Βουνί, στον Άγιο Αμβρόσιο, στον Άγιο Θεράποντα και στο Σούνι-Ζανατζιά. Γι’ αυτά τα έργα θα δαπανηθεί ποσό πέραν του ενός εκατομμυρίου ευρώ. Ο στόχος είναι να μετατραπούν τα χωριά σε ελκυστικούς προορισμούς για κατοίκους και επισκέπτες. Τα έργα τα αποφάσισαν οι ίδιες οι κοινότητες, για να έχουν μέλλον τα χωριά τους, για να μείνουν στον τόπο τους οι νέοι και να έρχονται επισκέπτες στην περιοχή. Εμείς χρηματοδοτούμε αυτό που ζήτησαν οι κάτοικοι για τις κοινότητές τους. Έτσι, ένας πολύ-λειτουργικός, ανοιχτός χώρος θα κοσμεί σύντομα το χωριό Σούνι-Ζανατζιά. Θα προσφέρει ευκαιρίες χαλάρωσης, ψυχαγωγίας και άθλησης. Θα φιλοξενεί πολιτιστικές, κοινωνικές και αθλητικές δραστηριότητες, θα διαθέτει ένα σύγχρονο παιδότοπο, γήπεδα padel και αναψυκτήριο. Ένα σπίτι της κοινότητας μέσα στην φύση, με εύκολη και ασφαλή πρόσβαση για όλους. Το έργο στον Άγιο Αμβρόσιο αναμένεται να φέρει τις κοινότητες πιο κοντά, αφού αφορά στην κατασκευή ενός σύγχρονου γηπέδου ποδοσφαίρου 11 x 11, που θα εξυπηρετεί τοπικές ομάδες και ακαδημίες ποδοσφαίρου. Θα διαθέτει τεχνητό χλοοτάπητα, μεταλλική περίφραξη, καντίνα, αποδυτήρια και χώρους υγιεινής και θα φιλοξενεί αθλητικές, κοινωνικές και πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις, προσελκύοντας επισκέπτες από την περιοχή και από άλλα μέρη της Κύπρου. Στο χωριό Άγιος Θεράπων ανεγείρεται ένας πολύ-λειτουργικός χώρος για τη φιλοξενία πολιτιστικών, ψυχαγωγικών, εκπαιδευτικών και αθλητικών εκδηλώσεων. Το κτίριο θα δένει αρμονικά με τη φύση της περιοχής, και θα φιλοξενεί κοινωνικές, πολιτιστικές και εκπαιδευτικές δραστηριότητες, όπως γαμήλιες δεξιώσεις, προγράμματα για παιδιά και για άτομα τρίτης ηλικίας. Στο Βουνί, χτίζεται ένας πολύ-επίπεδος χώρος συνδεδεμένος με το ιστορικό μνημείο της ενετικής Χαβούζας. Με χώρους για εκδηλώσεις, καφετερία, χώρο χαλάρωσης με λιμνούλα, τοίχο αναρρίχησης με πανοραμική θέα. Το έργο αποσκοπεί στην ανάδειξη της φυσικής ομορφιάς της περιοχής και στην ενίσχυση του τοπικού τουρισμού. Όλα τα έργα αναμένεται να ολοκληρωθούν σε 18 μήνες μετά την εξασφάλιση των αναγκαίων αδειοδοτήσεων. Τη λειτουργία και τη διαχείρισή τους θα αναλάβουν τα κοινοτικά συμβούλια. Μέρος του συνολικού ποσού που προσφέρει ο Όμιλος ΧΜ θα διατεθεί στην πρόληψη των πυρκαγιών. Ναι θεωρούμε ιδιαίτερα σημαντική την πρόληψη, γι’ αυτό χρηματοδοτούμε την εγκατάσταση δέκα κινητών δεξαμενών νερού σε όλες τις επαρχίες της ελεύθερης Κύπρου. Οι υδατοδεξαμενές θα λειτουργούν ως επιπρόσθετα σημεία υδροληψίας ιδιαίτερα σε περιοχές όπου δεν υπάρχει ποτάμι, θάλασσα ή υδατοφράκτης. Έτσι τα εναέρια μέσα να επιστρέφουν γρηγορότερα στο μέτωπο της πυρκαγιάς. Η Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία επέλεξε τα σημεία όπου θα εγκατασταθούν οι υδατοδεξαμενές, ώστε να εξυπηρετούν με βέλτιστο τρόπο τα εναέρια μέσα πυρόσβεσης. Στην επαρχία Πάφου θα τοποθετηθούν 3 υδατοδεξαμενές, λόγω της ιδιαίτερης μορφολογίας του εδάφους. Στις επαρχίες Λεμεσού, Λευκωσίας και Λάρνακας θα τοποθετηθούν από 2 υδατοδεξαμενές, ενώ μια θα τοποθετηθεί στην επαρχία Αμμοχώστου.
