Το ΤΑΕ Λάρνακας προχώρησε στη σύλληψη 41χρονου πολίτη τρίτης χώρας, ο οποίος μεταφέρθηκε στην Κύπρο έπειτα από συντονισμένη επιχείρηση σε χώρα της Ασίας. Σύμφωνα με αρμόδιες πηγές ο 41χρονος φέρεται να διαδραμάτιζε καθοδηγητικό ρόλο στην οργάνωση που βρίσκεται στο μικροσκόπιο των Αρχών. Καθοριστική εξέλιξη καταγράφεται στην υπόθεση τρομοκρατίας. Ο Υπεύθυνος του ΤΑΕ Λάρνακας, Γιώργος Χαραλάμπους, επιβεβαίωσε ότι μέλη του ΤΑΕ Λάρνακας, σε συνεργασία με άλλες υπηρεσίες της Δημοκρατίας, συνέλαβαν 41χρονο πολίτη τρίτης χώρας στο πλαίσιο των ερευνών για την υπόθεση τρομοκρατίας. Ο ύποπτος εντοπίστηκε σε χώρα της Ασίας και μεταφέρθηκε στην Κύπρο κατόπιν συντονισμένης επιχείρησης, ενώ το Επαρχιακό Δικαστήριο Λάρνακας εξέδωσε εναντίον του διάταγμα οκταήμερης κράτησης. Σύμφωνα με τον κ. Χαραλάμπους, ο 41χρονος διερευνάται για τα ίδια αδικήματα με εκείνα που αντιμετωπίζουν οι τρεις ήδη κατηγορούμενοι. Σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές πληροφορίες, οι ανακριτές του ΤΑΕ Λάρνακας θεωρούν ότι ο 41χρονος φέρεται να είναι το πρόσωπο που είχε τον συντονισμό και την καθοδήγηση της ομάδας, ενώ οι τρεις κατηγορούμενοι φέρεται να πραγματοποιούσαν ταξίδια στο εξωτερικό, όπου είχαν επαφές και συναντήσεις μαζί του. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ενώπιον του Μόνιμου Κακουργιοδικείου Λάρνακας έχουν ήδη παραπεμφθεί σε απευθείας δίκη 54χρονος Παλαιστίνιος με κυπριακή υπηκοότητα, καθώς και άνδρες ηλικίας 32 και 38 ετών, οι οποίοι θα παρουσιαστούν εκ νέου στις 6 Αυγούστου. Σύμφωνα με όσα έχουν αναφερθεί από τις ανακριτικές Αρχές στο πλαίσιο της υπόθεσης, οι 32χρονος και 38χρονος φέρεται να συνδέονται με τη Χαμάς και φέρεται να προετοίμαζαν τρομοκρατικά χτυπήματα εναντίον ισραηλινών στόχων στην Κύπρο. Ειδικότερα, σύμφωνα με την ΕΛΑΣ, λίγο πριν τις 2 μεσημέρι ένας άστεγος τηλεφώνησε στο κέντρο 'Αμεσης Δράσης πως εντόπισε μια βαλίτσα στο κτήριο, η οποία είχε μια περίεργη μυρωδιά. Στο σημείο έσπευσαν αστυνομικές δυνάμεις και κατά την εξέταση της βαλίτσας εντόπισαν να εξέχει κάτι που μοιάζει με ανθρώπινο μέλος. 'Αμεσα αποκλείστηκε ο χώρος και κλήθηκε ιατροδικαστής ο οποίος διαπίστωσε ότι εντός της βαλίτσας υπήρχε μια σορός γυναίκας σε προχωρημένη σήψη.
