Economic sentiment in Cyprus improved for the third consecutive month, rising marginally in June, on improved business and consumer confidence, according to the benchmark index compiled by the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus. Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του ΟΗΕ προειδοποιεί, στην τελευταία έκθεση του για την ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ, ότι η κατάσταση στη νεκρή ζώνη στην Κύπρο παραμένει εύθραυστη, με ιδιαίτερη ανησυχία για το οροπέδιο της Πύλας, τη στρατιωτική δραστηριότητα κατά μήκος των γραμμών κατάπαυσης του πυρός, τα Βαρώσια, τη μη εξουσιοδοτημένη πολιτική δραστηριότητα και τις απειλές κατά ειρηνευτικών επιχειρήσεων. Στις παρατηρήσεις του, ο Γενικός Γραμματέας χαιρετίζει πρώτα τη «θετική πρόσφατη εμπλοκή των ηγετών σε σχέση με την πολιτική διαδικασία», προσθέτοντας ότι «η τακτικότητα με την οποία οι ηγέτες συναντήθηκαν κατά την περίοδο αναφοράς είναι επίσης ενθαρρυντική». Ωστόσο, δηλώνει ότι λυπάται επειδή «δεν έχει σημειωθεί καμία πρόοδος» ως προς τις «επανειλημμένες εκκλήσεις» του προς τις πλευρές να αποκλιμακώσουν την αυξανόμενη στρατιωτική εκσυγχρονιστική δραστηριότητα κατά μήκος των αντίστοιχων γραμμών κατάπαυσης του πυρός και να αναστρέψουν τις ενέργειες τους εντός και γύρω από τη νεκρή ζώνη. Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας καλεί και τις δύο πλευρές «να παύσουν τις παραβιάσεις στρατιωτικών κατασκευών», προειδοποιώντας ότι οι ενέργειες αυτές «στην πράξη επιδιώκουν να μεταβάλουν μόνιμα το στρατιωτικό στάτους κβο της νεκρής ζώνης». Είναι ιδιαίτερα επικριτικός έναντι της «πολιτικής σκόπιμης θόλωσης της διάκρισης μεταξύ στρατιωτικών και πολιτών μέσω της απόκρυψης στρατιωτικών θέσεων εντός πολιτικών δομών», την οποία χαρακτηρίζει «σοβαρή ανησυχία». Εξίσου ανησυχητικές, αναφέρει, είναι οι ενέργειες που επιδιώκουν «την προώθηση στρατιωτικών θέσεων ή την αλλοίωση των δεδομένων επί του εδάφους», τονίζοντας ότι «η επίκληση της ανισορροπίας δυνάμεων στο νησί δεν μπορεί να δικαιολογήσει παραβιάσεις». Επαναλαμβάνει το αίτημά του, καθώς και αυτό του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας, προς τις δύο πλευρές «να διερευνήσουν μηχανισμούς για άμεση στρατιωτική επαφή» και τις ενθαρρύνει «να αναζητήσουν ενεργά τρόπους διαλόγου με τη μεσολάβηση της UNFICYP». “Στο πλαίσιο των προσπαθειών τους για την προώθηση στενότερης συνεργασίας μεταξύ των κοινοτήτων, οι τοπικοί και διεθνείς παράγοντες εξακολουθούν να αντιμετωπίζουν προκλήσεις και εμπόδια που συνδέονται με το καθεστώς του Βορρά και με ανησυχίες σχετικά με την «αναγνώριση». Ενώ η πολιτική των Ηνωμένων Εθνών παραμένει αμετάβλητη και οι αποφάσεις του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας επί του θέματος τηρούνται αυστηρά, επαναλαμβάνω ότι οι ανησυχίες σχετικά με την αναγνώριση δεν πρέπει από μόνες τους να αποτελούν εμπόδιο στην ενίσχυση της συνεργασίας” αναφέρει ο ΓΓ ΟΗΕ. Πύλα Για την Πύλα, η έκθεση είναι ιδιαίτερα σαφής. «Η κατάσταση στο οροπέδιο της Πύλας παραμένει βαθιά ανησυχητική», αναφέρει ο Γενικός Γραμματέας, επαναλαμβάνοντας «την ανάγκη όλα τα μέρη να σέβονται και να τηρούν την αμερόληπτη οριοθέτηση της νεκρής ζώνης από τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη — τη μόνη οριοθέτηση που αναγνωρίζει το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας». Αν και η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ «διαδραματίζει ουσιώδη ρόλο στην αποκλιμάκωση των εντάσεων και στη διαφύλαξη της ακεραιότητας της νεκρής ζώνης», σημειώνει ότι η ικανότητά της «να περιορίζει μη εξουσιοδοτημένες δραστηριότητες είναι περιορισμένη χωρίς την πλήρη συνεργασία των πλευρών». Τονίζει ότι «οι πλευρές έχουν την ευθύνη να σέβονται την ακεραιότητα της ζώνης ασφαλείας και την εξουσία που έχει ανατεθεί από τον ΟΗΕ εντός αυτής». Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι η περίοδος αναφοράς σημαδεύτηκε από «ανανεωμένη αμφισβήτηση της νεκρής ζώνης, ιδίως ως προς την πρόσβαση και τη χρήση γης εντός αυτής». Η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ, προστίθεται, πρέπει να σταθμίζει προσεκτικά «τις παραμέτρους ασφαλείας και τη διατήρηση του στρατιωτικού στάτους κβο» με τη διευκόλυνση «εύλογων και νόμιμων πολιτικών δραστηριοτήτων εντός της νεκρής ζώνης». Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας καλεί τις πλευρές «να αξιοποιήσουν πλήρως τους υφιστάμενους μηχανισμούς διασύνδεσης με την ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ». Επίσης η έκθεση περιλαμβάνει επίσης ισχυρό μήνυμα για την ασφάλεια του προσωπικού του ΟΗΕ. «Οι απειλές κατά κυανόκρανων της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ είναι απαράδεκτες», αναφέρει ο Γενικός Γραμματέας, καλώντας την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία «να διερευνήσει το περιστατικό των ένοπλων κυνηγών που έθεσαν σε κίνδυνο την ασφάλεια των ειρηνευτικών επιχειρήσεων», καθώς και να δώσει συνέχεια σε μέτρα λογοδοσίας για «τις ενέργειες της μονάδας αλλοδαπών και μετανάστευσης έναντι προσωπικού του ΟΗΕ κατά τις επαναπροωθήσεις αιτούντων άσυλο στη νεκρή ζώνη το 2024». Βαρώσια Για τα Βαρώσια, ο Γενικός Γραμματέας επαναλαμβάνει την ανησυχία του για «την κατάσταση στην περιφραγμένη περιοχή» και την «έλλειψη ανταπόκρισης στην έκκληση του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας για αναστροφή των ενεργειών που ελήφθησαν μετά την ανακοίνωση της μερικής επαναλειτουργίας της περιφραγμένης πόλης τον Οκτώβριο του 2020». Υπενθυμίζει τα ψηφίσματα 550 και 789 του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας και αναφέρει ότι «η θέση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών επί του θέματος αυτού παραμένει αμετάβλητη». Παράλληλα, «αποδοκιμάζει» τους περιορισμούς στην ελευθερία κινήσεων της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ «στα Βαρώσια, στα Στροβίλια και αλλού», υπογραμμίζοντας ότι η εντολή της αποστολής «δεν περιορίζεται στη νεκρή ζώνη αλλά εκτείνεται σε ολόκληρο το νησί». ΔΕΑ Η Διερευνητική Επιτροπή για τους Αγνοούμενους στην Κύπρο κατέχει επίσης σημαντική θέση στην έκθεση. Οι διακοινοτικές ομάδες επιστημόνων της, «με την υποστήριξη των Ηνωμένων Εθνών», έχουν εντολή «να ανακτούν, να ταυτοποιούν και να επιστρέφουν τα λείψανα προσώπων που αγνοούνται από τις περιόδους 1963/64 και 1974, καθώς και από την ενδιάμεση περίοδο». Κατά την περίοδο αναφοράς, οκτώ ομάδες Ελληνοκύπριων και Τουρκοκύπριων επιστημόνων πραγματοποίησαν διακοινοτικές εκταφές σε όλο το νησί και ταυτοποίησαν επτά πρόσωπα ως αγνοούμενους. Από την έναρξη των εργασιών της, το 2006, η Επιτροπή έχει «εκταφιάσει ή παραλάβει τα λείψανα 1.718 προσώπων και στις δύο πλευρές του νησιού». Από τους 2.002 αγνοούμενους που περιλαμβάνονται στον επίσημο κατάλογο της, 1.076 έχουν ταυτοποιηθεί επίσημα. Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι κατά την περίοδο αυτή έγιναν 14 ταυτοποιήσεις, εκ των οποίων οι 13 αφορούσαν πρόσωπα του επίσημου καταλόγου, ενώ «τα λείψανα δύο αγνοουμένων επιστράφηκαν στις οικογένειες τους για αξιοπρεπή ταφή». Σημειώνει επίσης ότι στις 16 Φεβρουαρίου 2026, το Παγκύπριο Συμβούλιο Ειρήνης απένειμε στη Διερευνητική Επιτροπή για τους Αγνοούμενους το Βραβείο Ειρήνης Κύπρου 2025, «σε αναγνώριση του εξαιρετικού έργου της Επιτροπής στη διερεύνηση της τύχης των αγνοουμένων στην Κύπρο». Η Επιτροπή συνεχίζει να δέχεται αιτήματα για «ενημερώσεις, ανταλλαγή βέλτιστων πρακτικών και συμμετοχή» σε προγράμματα της από χώρες με υποθέσεις αγνοουμένων, μεταξύ των οποίων η Αρμενία, η Κολομβία και η Συρία. Ως προς τη διαχείριση πολιτικών δραστηριοτήτων και τη διατήρηση της τάξης, η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ συνέχισε να διαχειρίζεται εξουσιοδοτημένες πολιτικές δραστηριότητες και να περιορίζει τη μη εξουσιοδοτημένη πρόσβαση και δραστηριότητα στη νεκρή ζώνη, «προκειμένου να αποτρέψει πιθανές εντάσεις ασφαλείας». Η Αποστολή ενέτεινε την επαφή της με την τοπική κοινωνία, πραγματοποιώντας 154 συναντήσεις με τοπικούς γεωργούς και κοινοτικούς ηγέτες, έναντι 35 κατά την προηγούμενη περίοδο αναφοράς. Οι προσπάθειες περιλάμβαναν «την επικαιροποίηση και εγκατάσταση σήμανσης σε ορισμένες ευαίσθητες περιοχές και αυξημένη προβολή στα μέσα ενημέρωσης». Αυλώνα Η γεωργική δραστηριότητα στην Αυλώνα, εντός της νεκρής ζώνης, επανεμφανίστηκε ως σημείο τριβής. Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις οι Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις «προωθήθηκαν στη νεκρή ζώνη» για να διαμαρτυρηθούν για δύο Ελληνοκύπριους γεωργούς, για τους οποίους ισχυρίζονταν ότι καλλιεργούσαν πολύ κοντά στη βόρεια γραμμή κατάπαυσης του πυρός. Αναφέρει επίσης ότι οι Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις αμφισβήτησαν την οριοθέτηση της νεκρής ζώνης και παρενέβησαν όταν προσωπικό της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ ζήτησε από Τουρκοκύπριους γεωργούς να αποχωρήσουν από περιοχή της νεκρής ζώνης την οποία καλλιεργούσαν χωρίς άδεια της αποστολής. Λόγω του «μακροχρόνιου και επαναλαμβανόμενου μοτίβου εντάσεων που σχετίζονται με γεωργικές δραστηριότητες», η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ έχει καταρτίσει εσωτερικό σχέδιο δράσης, με κεντρικό στοιχείο μια δημόσια ενημερωτική εκστρατεία για την αντιμετώπιση «παραπληροφόρησης και εσφαλμένων αντιλήψεων». Το μη εξουσιοδοτημένο κυνήγι παρέμεινε επίσης σοβαρό ζήτημα. Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι περιστατικά κυνηγιού με χρήση πυροβόλων όπλων στη νεκρή ζώνη συνέχισαν να σημειώνονται «με υψηλή συχνότητα», παρά τις επανειλημμένες διαμαρτυρίες της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ προς την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία. Έως τις 31 Μαΐου είχαν καταγραφεί 33 περιστατικά, μεταξύ των οποίων περιπτώσεις όπου πυροβολισμοί σημειώθηκαν κοντά σε προσωπικό και εγκαταστάσεις του ΟΗΕ. Στις 15 Φεβρουαρίου, τρία Ελληνοκυπριακά πρόσωπα «επέδειξαν εκφοβιστική συμπεριφορά και πυροβόλησαν πάνω από ειρηνευτές, θέτοντας σε κίνδυνο την ασφάλεια τους». Η έκθεση προσθέτει ότι οι διαβήματα προς τις αρχές για τη διασφάλιση λογοδοσίας «δεν έχουν μέχρι στιγμής επιτύχει». Ως προς τη δημόσια τάξη, η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ συνεργάστηκε την 1η Μαΐου με τις δύο αστυνομικές υπηρεσίες για την επιτυχή διατήρηση της τάξης κατά τη διάρκεια μεγάλης δικοινοτικής πορείας για την Πρωτομαγιά στη νεκρή ζώνη, στην οποία συμμετείχαν περισσότεροι από 1.200 άνθρωποι και από τις δύο κοινότητες. Τα Κοινά Γραφεία Επαφής, τα οποία διευκολύνονται από την ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ υπό την αιγίδα της Τεχνικής Επιτροπής για το Έγκλημα και τα Ποινικά Θέματα, συνέχισαν να υποστηρίζουν «τακτική ανταλλαγή πληροφοριών» και να λειτουργούν ως «αποτελεσματικοί μηχανισμοί συντονισμού». Στην Πύλα, ωστόσο, συνεχίστηκε η εγκληματικότητα που συνδέεται με «11 παράνομα καζίνο και 1 νυχτερινό κέντρο», ενώ η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ διατήρησε κοινοτικά προσανατολισμένες πεζές περιπολίες αστυνόμευσης. Στρατιωτικές παραβιάσεις Ως προς την αποτροπή επανάληψης των εχθροπραξιών και τη διατήρηση του στρατιωτικού στάτους κβο, η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ κατέγραψε, έως τις 31 Μαΐου, 166 στρατιωτικές παραβιάσεις: 46 από την Εθνική Φρουρά και 120 από τις Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις. Ο αριθμός αυτός αντιπροσωπεύει ελαφρά αύξηση σε σχέση με την προηγούμενη περίοδο αναφοράς, αν και παραμένει «σημαντικά χαμηλότερος από το 2023 και το 2024». Οι στρατιωτικές κατασκευές αντιπροσώπευαν σχεδόν τις μισές παραβιάσεις, ακολουθούμενες από υπέρμετρη επάνδρωση και προωθήσεις. Η έκθεση υπογραμμίζει επίσης τη συνεχιζόμενη εγκατάσταση στρατιωτικού τύπου συστημάτων επιτήρησης κατά μήκος της νεκρής ζώνης. Η Εθνική Φρουρά πρόσθεσε δύο νέες συσκευές κάμερας/αισθητήρα, φθάνοντας συνολικά τις 30 συσκευές σε 34 πύργους επιτήρησης. Οι Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις εγκατέστησαν πέντε νέες συσκευές, φθάνοντας συνολικά τις 71 συσκευές σε 64 πύργους. Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι τα συστήματα αυτά «παραμένουν μεγάλη ανησυχία για την ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ», επειδή συμβάλλουν «στη μακροπρόθεσμη στρατιωτικοποίηση κατά μήκος της νεκρής ζώνης» και έχουν «δυνητικά αποσταθεροποιητική επίδραση». Δεν σημειώθηκε επίσης πρόοδος στα μέτρα αποκλιμάκωσης που ζητήθηκαν με το Ψήφισμα 2815 του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας, ούτε στην αντιμετώπιση σοβαρών παραβιάσεων που είχαν προηγουμένως αναφερθεί. Η έκθεση επισημαίνει ότι οι εγκαταστάσεις εντός της νεκρής ζώνης προκαλούν «ιδιαίτερη ανησυχία», αναφέροντας ότι «οι πλευρές έχουν προωθηθεί από τις γραμμές κατάπαυσης του πυρός και, με τον τρόπο αυτό, υπονομεύουν το ουδέτερο καθεστώς και την ακεραιότητα της νεκρής ζώνης». Αναφέρει επίσης ότι οι αρχές της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας δεν έλαβαν μέτρα για την αναστροφή της πολιτικής που απαιτεί από πολιτικά κτίρια κατά μήκος της νότιας γραμμής κατάπαυσης του πυρός να ενσωματώνουν στρατιωτικές θέσεις, προειδοποιώντας ότι τέτοιες εγκαταστάσεις «θολώνουν επικίνδυνα τη διάκριση μεταξύ πολιτικών και στρατιωτικών εγκαταστάσεων». Ως προς τις εντάσεις εντός και γύρω από τη νεκρή ζώνη, η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ συνέχισε προσπάθειες σε πολιτικό και στρατιωτικό επίπεδο για αποκλιμάκωση, μεταξύ άλλων σε σχέση με το αίτημα του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας για άμεσες στρατιωτικές επαφές και για μείωση της στελέχωσης των στρατιωτικών θέσεων όπου υπάρχουν ήδη τεχνολογικές εγκαταστάσεις ή όπου αυτές θα μπορούσαν να θεωρηθούν εύλογη αντικατάσταση. Στα Βαρώσια, ωστόσο, η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι «δεν ελήφθησαν μέτρα» για την ανταπόκριση στην έκκληση του Συμβουλίου για άμεση αναστροφή των ενεργειών που ελήφθησαν από τον Οκτώβριο του 2020. Η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ παρατήρησε ανακαινίσεις, οδικά έργα, αυξανόμενο αριθμό καμερών κλειστού κυκλώματος, επαναλαμβανόμενες εμπορικές υπερπτήσεις με μη επανδρωμένα αεροσκάφη, καθώς και την προσθήκη τεσσάρων προκατασκευασμένων τσιμεντένιων θέσεων βολής στο σύστημα τάφρου και αναχώματος που κατασκευάστηκε από τις Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις νότια του δομημένου τμήματος των Βαρωσίων. Στο τμήμα για τις δραστηριότητες της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ, η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι η αποστολή διατήρησε τη στρατιωτική και αστυνομική παρουσία της εντός και γύρω από τη νεκρή ζώνη, πραγματοποίησε χερσαίες και εναέριες περιπολίες, παρακολούθησε τις γραμμές κατάπαυσης του πυρός και εργάστηκε για να διασφαλίσει τον σεβασμό της ακεραιότητας της νεκρής ζώνης. Λόγω περιορισμένων πόρων, η ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ αναπροσάρμοσε τα μοτίβα περιπολιών και αύξησε τις κοινές, στοχευμένες βάσει πληροφοριών περιπολίες σε επαναλαμβανόμενα σημεία έντασης. Οι περιορισμοί ρευστότητας είχαν απτό αντίκτυπο, μεταξύ άλλων με πάγωμα προσλήψεων, προσωρινούς περιορισμούς στη χρήση αεροπορικών μέσων, αναβολή προμηθειών, μειωμένη εκπαίδευση και περιορισμούς στις επίσημες μετακινήσεις. Η έκθεση προειδοποιεί ότι οι περιορισμοί στα εναέρια μέσα επηρέασαν την ικανότητα της αποστολής να διεξάγει ολοκληρωμένη εναέρια επιτήρηση, σημειώνοντας ότι τα ελικόπτερα παραμένουν «κρίσιμα για την έγκαιρη ανίχνευση, την επίγνωση της κατάστασης και την επαλήθευση παραβιάσεων». Προσωπική απεσταλμένη και επαφές Στις σημαντικές εξελίξεις, η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι ο Γενικός Γραμματέας και η Προσωπική του Απεσταλμένη συνέχισαν τις προσπάθειές τους για ειρηνική επίλυση του Κυπριακού. Η Προσωπική Απεσταλμένη ταξίδεψε στην Κύπρο τον Ιανουάριο και τον Ιούνιο του 2026 και συναντήθηκε με τον Τουρκοκύπριο ηγέτη Τουφάν Έρχιουρμαν και τον Ελληνοκύπριο ηγέτη Νίκο Χριστοδουλίδη. Η έκθεση περιγράφει επίσης τη νεκρή ζώνη ως εύθραυστη, ιδίως στην Πύλα, όπου η τουρκοκυπριακή αστυνομία επέβαλε περιορισμούς πρόσβασης από τις αρχές Φεβρουαρίου και συνέλαβε, για σύντομο διάστημα, έναν Ελληνοκύπριο. Οι εντάσεις κορυφώθηκαν στις 15 Απριλίου, όταν οι Τουρκικές Δυνάμεις συγκέντρωσαν φάλαγγα 15 τεθωρακισμένων οχημάτων μεταφοράς προσωπικού στη βόρεια γραμμή κατάπαυσης του πυρός και επάνδρωσαν σε μεγάλο βαθμό κοντινό παρατηρητήριο με περίπου 20 στρατιώτες. Κατά τον χρόνο σύνταξης της έκθεσης, η κατάσταση ήταν «ήρεμη αλλά λεπτή». Ο Γενικός Γραμματέας καταλήγει λέγοντας ότι είναι «ουσιώδες» τα διακυβερνητικά όργανα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών να συνεχίσουν να στηρίζουν την αποστολή με «επαρκείς και προβλέψιμους πόρους», ενώ εκφράζει ευγνωμοσύνη προς το προσωπικό της ΟΥΝΦΙΚΥΠ για τη «σταθερή δέσμευση» του στην εφαρμογή της εντολής της Αποστολής και «στην υπόθεση της ειρήνης στο νησί». Το Υπουργείο Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων αναφέρει ότι η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία κατέθεσε εμπρόθεσμα και με τεκμηρίωση τις θέσεις της για τους νέους ευρωπαϊκούς κανόνες στις αερομεταφορές, απαντώντας στην ανακοίνωση του Δημοκρατικού Συναγερμού για το θέμα της αεροπορικής συνδεσιμότητας. Σε ανακοίνωσή του, το Υπουργείο υπογραμμίζει ότι σε ένα ζήτημα εθνικής σημασίας, όπως η αεροπορική συνδεσιμότητα ενός νησιωτικού κράτους, «δεν περισσεύει χώρος για κομματική αντιπαράθεση», σημειώνοντας ότι σημασία έχουν τα γεγονότα. Όπως αναφέρει, η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία υπέβαλε, εντός της προθεσμίας της δημόσιας διαβούλευσης που έληγε στις 11 Ιουνίου 2026, τεκμηριωμένη θέση με έξι συγκεκριμένες εισηγήσεις για την προστασία της αεροπορικής συνδεσιμότητας της χώρας. Το Υπουργείο προσθέτει ότι τα ερωτήματα που διατυπώνει σήμερα ο ΔΗΣΥ για το κατά πόσο οι θέσεις κατατέθηκαν έγκαιρα, ήταν τεκμηριωμένες και αξιοποιούν τις ευρωπαϊκές συμμαχίες, έχουν ήδη απαντηθεί δημόσια και αναλυτικά από την Κυβέρνηση από τις 5 Ιουλίου. Παράλληλα, χαιρετίζει την εγγραφή του θέματος στην αρμόδια κοινοβουλευτική επιτροπή, επισημαίνοντας ότι η Βουλή δικαιούται να ζητά ενημέρωση στο πλαίσιο του κοινοβουλευτικού ελέγχου και ότι η Κυβέρνηση θα παράσχει κάθε αναγκαία πληροφόρηση. Σημειώνει ακόμη ότι οι θέσεις της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας έχουν ήδη κατατεθεί και δημοσιοποιηθεί, γεγονός που, όπως αναφέρει, θα επιτρέψει μια ουσιαστική συζήτηση στη βάση συγκεκριμένων και τεκμηριωμένων δεδομένων. Καταληκτικά, το Υπουργείο αναφέρει ότι συμφωνεί με τη θέση του ΔΗΣΥ πως η αεροπορική συνδεσιμότητα δεν αποτελεί κομματικό ζήτημα και τονίζει ότι η Κυβέρνηση θα συνεχίσει να υπερασπίζεται τις θέσεις της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας «σε κάθε ευρωπαϊκό βήμα», καλωσορίζοντας κάθε καλόπιστη συμβολή που επικεντρώνεται στην ουσία του ζητήματος. Economic sentiment in Cyprus improved for the third consecutive month, rising marginally in June, on improved business and consumer confidence, according to the benchmark index compiled by the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus.
